Oprah has done some amazing achievement and many more; she had to build her way to success throughout her whole life. She started giving her first speech at her church when she was just two years old. This was a huge start for Oprah due to that she was shy and had no friends. She had then got tired of living the hard life with her mother, so she decided to run away but did not make it far. Oprah later moved with her father; he placed her into a detention home. She settled down for a while until she was in high school. This is when Oprah got her first job at the radio station and she loved what she did. Her very first movie called Beloved that reflected on her history when she was a child. Oprah was very dedicated; she would work for many hours at her office to finish her movie or any other work that she was trying to complete. She had made a pact that when she was sixty years old, she would retire. However, she decided to keep going with her career. “The Color Purple” was her number one best seller. She also liked the history of the black women through drama and songs. This show told about what women had went through and what they did to survive. Oprah’s parents separated when she was young. She then moved to Kosciusko Mississippi on a small farm with her grandmother. Oprah stayed to herself meaning the only friends she had was a corncob doll. She became uncertain to living in Mississippi and Milwaukee with her mother. Oprah mother, Bernita Lee, worked as a house cleaner and was at the time on welfare. Vernon Winfrey, Oprah’s father was a stem disciplinarian knows as a city council member and owned his own barbershop and store.
