One Direction is a famous boy band, and Georg Handel is a famous composer, so what could be similar? A lot of things actually, they both are very charitable, for starters. The members of One Direction and Georg were both born in the UK (one member of One Direction was born in Ireland). Though they have similarities, there are also a lot of differences. One major difference is that One Direction was born in the 1990’s and Georg was born in 1680’s. These aren’t the only reasons, but before we continue, let’s learn more about the backgrounds of each musician.
One Direction is a famous boy band that formed on the X-Factor UK. Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, and Zayn Malik all auditioned on the X-Factor in 2010. They auditioned as solo artists, and all made it through. The X-Factor UK is different than the American version. In the UK, before the live shows, all people who made it through auditions have to go to boot camp. Once in boot camp, the judges test your skills and eliminate you if you don’t have the skills. They all passed the singing portion of boot camp, but none of them can dance! So after the dance portion, they got eliminated. One of the judges was Simon Cowell. He made the split second decision to take all 5 guys and let them continue if they would be in a group. The boys agreed and continued in the X-Factor. Harry came up with the name “One Direction” (Niall’s idea was “Niall and the Potatoes”). After preforming their first song together, Viva la Vida (Coldplay), the response was fantastic! One Direction continued performing until the final 3, they didn’t get enough votes and went home, but they stayed together, releasing their first single, “What Makes You Beautiful”, just 1 year after being fo...

... different, like Georg was a solo artist and One Direction is a band. One Direction is also a pop band and Georg wrote classical. They were also born in completely different eras. Georg went blind, none of the members of One Direction is blind yet. Another thing is that all parents of the One Direction boys were supportive of their musical career, while Georg’s parents were half fine and half not. Georg also opened his own music school, which I honestly doubt One Direction is going to do. One Direction has been on world tours all over the world, while Georg staying in Europe.
Even the most different people can have things in common. One Direction and Georg Handel is a good example of this. Older music composers and new music composers have a lot in common, so take some time to learn about the classical artists, you never know, maybe they are similar to you as well.
Classical music can be best summed by Mr. Dan Romano who said, “Music is the hardest kind of art. It doesn't hang up on a wall and wait to be stared at and enjoyed by passersby. It's communication. Its hours and hours being put into a work of art that may only last, in reality, for a few moments...but if done well and truly appreciated, it lasts in our hearts forever. That's art, speaking with your heart to the hearts of others.” Starting at a young age Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven have done just that with their musical compositions. Both musical composers changed the world of music and captivated the hearts of many. Their love of composing shared many similar traits, though their musical styles were much different.

What do a trained assassin and a little boy with disabilities have in common? In my opinion short story characters have a lot in common, and are easily compared. A few things that Ivan and Doodle have in common are they are both “Slow”, Loyal, and had a sad death.
There are several famous Western Composers in History, but the one composer that I wanted to know more about is George Frideric Handel. He was born on February 23, 1682 and he was a German- born British Baroque composer. He studied at the University of Halle before moving to Hamburg in 1703, where he served as a violinist in the opera orchestra. He was born the same year as Johann Sebastian Bach. He spent most of his life in London and he was well known for his operas, oratorios, anthems, and organ concertos. Handel was a son of a barber- surgeon and Handel’s dad wanted him to become a lawyer, but he was into music. Handel’s father didn’t want to by Handel an instrument because he didn’t want him to be a composer. His mom and his aunt was the only one that supported him. Handel started playing the violin,
George Frideric Handel was born February 23, 1685 in Halle, Germany, being born the same year as Johann Sebastian Bach. His father was 73 years old at the time of his birth. George, at a young age, had a passion for music, but his father wanted him to pursue a career in civil law. George’s father believed that music would not provide a real source of income and he would not even allow his son to own an instrument. Although his father objected, George’s mother, Dorothy, supported his love for music and encouraged him to practice. With the help of his mother, he would practice secretly to develop his skill and talent. When George was seven, he had the opportunity to play the organ for a duke’s court and there was where he met Freidrich Zachow,
Some differences, was that they both were doing two different things in their working life. Judge
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven are very famous past composers that have created many pieces that have influenced not just people of their time, but people in modern times as well.
George Frideric Handel, certainly one of the greatest composers of the 16th century, took Europe by storm with his compositions, arias, and operas. A master of his trade by the time of his death, Handel was not handed his fortune and fame. With rivalry, odds, and sickness stacked against him, Handel overcame hardships to reach his dreams. Hard work and preservation through even the darkest of days led to hundreds of works of musical art by Handel. Through his knowledge of many musical styles from Germany, Italy, and England, Handel rose to greatness and became a well-known artist of his time, despite adversity.
Handel’s childhood started out like many great composers. Even though his father saw his skill in music, he was unwilling to let his child journey down the harsh, un-respected, frivolous road of a musician. Instead, he longed for the young Handel to become a businessman or lawyer, but that was soon to change. The Handel’s were very religious people, this quality of which was evidently passed down to George, and were very active in the church. Young George played the postlude in the church and it was during a service that he was discovered by the Duke of Weissenfels. The Duke passionately persuaded George’s father to advance his talent. Eventually, his father succumbed and at the age of 9, George was placed under the only teacher he had during his lifetime, Friedrich Wilhelm Zachow. By age 11, the prodigy Handel had completed his first composition and could play the organ well enough to substitute for his own teacher, when needed. Between the ages of 17 and 18, Handel moved to Hamburg, Germany to begin his “great search for ways to work out the ideas flooding his mind.” In 1708, he moved to Rome, which certainly catapulted his thinking to a level to create the oratorio, The Resurrection, and his second opera, Aggripina, w...
The first similarity is that they use ethos when they talk about their past experiences. To clarify, the pair of them mention events in their lives which lead to their careers as writers in some form. Another way in which they use ethos is that they eachmention books they have written. For Orwell: Burmese Days, Animal Farm, and Homage to Catalonia. For Didion: Play It As It Lays and A Book of Common Prayer. A slightly less lofty similarity is that the 2 authors allude to the ten-book-long poem, Paradise Lost, a story of Adam and Eve from the bible. This could be a mere coincidence, but authors are rarely so lazy as to accidently reference the same book. They also continually used imagery when describing their natural ability for description. Orwell depicts how describing things around himself became a habit with an example of something he could have thought, such as, “A yellow beam of sunlight, filtering through the muslin curtains, slanted on to the table…” Didion also uses imagery when talking about her past but it is more scattered. She describes the buses she took to Berkeley and the events that inspired the books she mentions very vividly. This could show that despite being from different points in time, authors will still share many characteristics between
Isabel Allende, a writer, once stated, “I tend to see the similarities in people and not the differences.” Many people see differences in people, not everyone or everything is the same. Washington Irving seen the similarities between Tom and Rip. Both Tom and Rip had a very lazy, but have friendly personalities. They had the similar idea of going into a wooded area to get away from their abuse and nagging wives.
In his teenage years, Handel started creating music. His early music didn’t gather much attention and has since been lost to the ages. At age 18, he dropped out of law school which his father made
George was a very talented composer but, unlike many others he didn’t come from a family with a long line of musicians. At very early age Handel had his mind set on studying music even though his father disapproved. Because his father wanted him to become a lawyer he didn’t allow Handel to play musical instruments. Despite his father’s wishes, historians believed he studied music by candlelight. To make his father proud he studied law for a short time but knew this was not what he wanted to do. George followed his dreamed and went on to join an orchestra in Germany that would change his life forever.
Both lived their lives throughout the same time period. Both were students of teachers and sociologists. Both were of European descent. I have just listed very similar traits about these 2 sociologists.
“If you hate difference, you'll be bored to death.” (Beta, 2010). All three poets, Wallace Stevens, Archibald MacLeish, and Marianne Moore are more different than similar. However, as Toba Beta says, it is much more interesting to be different than all the same. It is very interesting that all three of these poets were alive during the same time, but came up with such different works of art and each were considered successful. Here and there, you can find similarities within their writing, but these authors are all very different which is why their poems all have a different opinion of what right.
