According to Oliver Sacks website, he is a renowned neurologist. Also, Sacks is a professor of neurology at the NYU school of medicine. After reading through some paragraphs in his website I can identify that he refers to his patients in a "heartwarming" way. This says a lot of Sachs character. It makes him a credible person because as a reader I noticed that he cares about his patience not only for the scientific matter but as humans he cares. The New York Times also sees this quality of Dr.Sacks, he 'illuminated their characters as much as their conditions" (1). Other people can judge to quick and don't see past the disease. Sack's doesn't he cheers them up and makes sure they know they are not going insane. An interesting fact about it was that he found out that music will always stay with us. For example, his patient who suffered from Alzheimer's and forgot what he had done but wouldn't forget the songs he had sung before. I found this very interesting because even in today's generation music plays a big role in our daily life. Music can be defined in so many ways. For example, it's a form of communication and expression. Humans easily are able to express their feeling in music. Music can change the mood of a person in seconds from bringing sad or happy memories back. Music basically just makes life better and easier. One of the things I found most interesting is some of the topics he has written about are aging, amnesia, color, deafness, dreams, ferns, Freud, hallucinations, neural, Darwinism, phantom limbs, photography, pre-Columbian history, and twins. It is very intriguing they way he investigates and how he takes importance in all of these different topics. Sachs takes the time and dedication to come up with a book where it is noticeable that is obvious he enjoys exploring Saavedra
