O.J. Simpson, a great football hero, made the mistake of his lifetime that becomes the most notorious criminal case ever. Growing up on the West Coast wasn’t serene for Simpson because he was surrounded by gangs. In his high school and college years he quickly rose to be a great football player. During his time he played football in college, he was awarded the Heisman Trophy. After he became an elite athlete in college, he was drafted by the Buffalo Bills. He stayed with them for eight years, then transferred to the San Francisco 49ers (Knapp 1). Simpson met Nicole Brown at Daisy, an upscale Beverly Hills club. While he was a star athlete, his grades were not always the best; yet he still managed to score big time for colleges, including the University of Southern California, in which he attended. Consequently, he quickly gained fame by setting NCAA records and victoriously received the Heisman Trophy in 1968. In 1969, Simpson joined the NFL Buffalo Bills, but struggled at first because the offense did not show off his running skills. After leading the NFL with 1,000 yards rushing for five years straight, he was then nicknamed “The Juice”. Simpson rushed more than 2,000 yards in the 1973 season, this was an amazing achievement for him. After playing for theBuffalo Bills for eight years, he went to the San Francisco 49ers for two years (O.J. Simpson: Career Stats 1). During his football career, Simpson was in television commercials for Hertz Rental Car Company. When he retired from the NFL in 1979, Simpson started his acting career and commentated for NFL games. In addition, there was a left leather glove discovered at the condo. This glove was a size XL, which matched the other glove found at Simpson’s residence. In Simpson’s Bronco, Brown’s blood was found (“The O.J. Simpson Trial 1”). Throughout the case, Simpson did not testify under oath.
Simpson had a great defense team, that some called the “Dream Team,” gave Marcia Clark a run for her money. Marcia Clark is the main prosecutor. Primarily, the case was led by Robert Shapiro, one member of the “Dream Team”. Throughout the case, aspiring lawyer Johnnie Cochran, did not make as many irrational decisions as Shapiro did.
