Thebes supported one brother, but the other one he considered a traitor and announces his body will not be allowed a proper burial. Antigone stands up for her brother by given him a proper burial. By doing so she upsets Creon so he locks her up, then she kills herself. After her death others affected also takes their life Haemon her lover who is the son of Creon and Eurydice his mother who is sadden by his death.
Furthermore, Oedipus the king and Antigone are both noble characters Oedipus is noble because he cares for his people and they respect him and his judgement he made a promise to help stop the cures put on Thebes. Antigone is noble because she is standing up for her brother even though the person she must face is family. Although both are noble characters they too are very different Antigone killed herself with nothing to lose which was very selfish of her because she had people who loved her. I honestly feel like there is no real issue in this play although he killed his father and slept with his mother the action that take place throughout the play were things that could not be stopped. No one was aware of the indecent acts that occurred with Oedipus and his mother, but when the too realized was going on both were just as upset. Jocasta cannot be blame because she thought her son was dead if anything Jocasta only wrong doing was sending her baby to death. If deciding what is ethical right and morally right remembering that things were much more different in their time. To the Greek people incest was very common.
