The things that I witnessed that represented emotional development was when child one felt a sense of pride when he built his building faster and better than before. Child one was happy in the beginning of the observation when he told everyone that he was going to make a building.Child two was sad when child three takes a block away from him without asking and the tears forming in his eyes expresses how he is feeling. Child one also gets sad as well when his blocks tumble and his pouting facial expression expresses sadness. Child three shows empathy when she acknowledged child one for being sad by assuring him that it's okay. This information will help teachers to set up play areas and also help them to have different tools and toys to help enhance children's ages 3-5 with their cognitive development.The benefits of this observation can also help teachers know If the toys that the children play with allow them to utilize any of their fine motor skills. This observation will also help me to learn that not all children socialize at their level and that if they do they may not always be nice to each other.This information will help me and to learn each child's personality. Learning each child's personality will help teachers and myself know who each child should sit by in the classroom. I will not give out any child's name in the summary and I will attach the narrative to the summary. Each child will be given the information and they will place it into their back packs, when the children are being picked up I will remind the families to check their children backpacks for homework and school related information. I will also email the parents with the information in the children's backpacks just in case the families forget to check. The summary will contain the reason the observation was done and how the information will help benefit me as the teacher. Professional Development This information will help me develop professionally by teaching me the ways in which children ages 3-5 develop. This Observation assignment will remind me that in my future classroom that I might just have to sit and watch the children play and learn from mistakes on their own and to only interfere when a situation gets out of hand. I will learn how to keep distractions at a minimum in my classroom by seating children near children that have more opposite personalities . This will help the quiet shy children to speak up more and learn to be comfortable around certain people and this will allow the children with big personalities to be more quiet and to listen more.
