The things that I witnessed that represented emotional development was when child one felt a sense of pride when he built his building faster and better than before. Child one was happy in the beginning of the observation when he told everyone that he was going to make a building.Child two was sad when child three takes a block away from him without asking and the tears forming in his eyes expresses how he is feeling. Child one also gets sad as well when his blocks tumble and his pouting facial expression expresses sadness. Child three shows empathy when she acknowledged child one for being sad by assuring him that it's okay. This information will help teachers to set up play areas and also help them to have different tools and toys to help enhance children's ages 3-5 with their cognitive development.The benefits of this observation can also help teachers know If the toys that the children play with allow them to utilize any of their fine motor skills. This observation will also help me to learn that not all children socialize at their level and that if they do they may not always be nice to each other.This information will help me and to learn each child's personality. I will not give out any child's name in the summary and I will attach the narrative to the summary. Each child will be given the information and they will place it into their back packs, when the children are being picked up I will remind the families to check their children backpacks for homework and school related information. I will also email the parents with the information in the children's backpacks just in case the families forget to check. The summary will contain the reason the observation was done and how the information will help benefit me as the teacher. Professional Development This information will help me develop professionally by teaching me the ways in which children ages 3-5 develop. The environment in which an infant is raise, has to do a lot with his/her development. I was surprise by this observation because there were different personalities. Loui was the child who interact more with the students in the classroom. Also, he was surprise of the things that he was able to do by using his gross motor skills. Charlotte imitate the behavior with the toys that were in the classroom. On the other hand, Benjamin was insecure child that needed to be near his mom/dad. I learned many things from this activity. Preschool children learn values of prosocial behavior such as comforting, helping, controlling aggression, and sharing via cooperative play. For example, turn taking is an important aspect of play that fosters sharing, moral reasoning, control of aggression, and conflict resolution because it is an essential aspect to the child’s establishment friendships and maintenance of relationships (Davies, 2011). Consequently, because friends spend more time playing together, they have more conflicts but are more likely to negotiate a solution. The facility I did my observation at was Tutor Time in Fairfield, and I arrived there at 3:15pm. When I arrived there, I could instantly see that it was a child centered program by the feel of the artwork the kids had made that were on the walls, the passing classrooms and it smelled like sugar cookies throughout the building. It was very quiet in the office area and in the halls when I was walking to the class of preschoolers.
To begin, my observation was at Webster Elementary School, a school placed in the city surrounded by houses and other schools. The specific classroom I am observing is full of Kindergarten students who seem to very advanced than I had imagined. The classroom walls are brick and white, but the classroom teacher Mrs. O'Brien does an amazing job keeping the space use for both an upbeat and educational vibe, especially for environmental print. Everywhere you look there are educational posters, numbers, and mental state vocabulary words, as well as, students completed work. In today’s preschool culture, the role and value of play is very important for children; a rich environment filled with playmates, opportunities to learn how to share, take turns, self-regulate, and make life-long friends only scratches the surface of why play is central for children’s development. Parents aren’t seeing what is happening: what they see as random play is actually being utilized to help the child grow socially, emotionally, and physically. Parents believe that children should be spending more time working at an academic level instead of spending their time playing with blocks, puzzles, or being with friends.
I completed my final observation on October 15 at the UTC Children’s Center at Battle Academy. When I arrived to my classroom, the students were on a field trip so I quickly went down to the fire hall on Main Street to meet up with the class. At the fire hall, parents, as well as the two teachers accompanied the students. The students arrived back in their classroom around 11:10, and that is when the parents left. After the field trip the children ate lunch in the cafeteria, had a brief lesson in the classroom, and played outside. The class I observed was preschool, with most children around 3 to 4 years old. All the children seemed to be developing normally. There were 7 boys and 3 girls present in the classroom.

Many conclusions have been drawn, observing how, when and why children develop the way they do. Jerry and Samantha are both grade one students who are unrelated. Although these two students are both the same age, they are different on a variety of accounts. Jerry is a shy and introverted boy who quickly becomes uncomfortable while talking to adults, teachers and peers, contrariwise Samantha is immensely confident and demonstrates extroversion around others. After analyzing both Jerry and Samantha through a biological, learning theorist and psychoanalytical lens, the reasons for the first-graders differences are clear. Depending on the lens in which an individual looks through when analyzing the development of children, interesting and intriguing conclusions can be drawn regarding the broad topic of understanding how children develop.

Aside from observing this child for an hour, I gathered the information from the mother, father, and the siblings of this child. Her mother enlightened me with some background information. Her father told me how close he is with her. Lastly, her siblings described the way she is at home and how they treat and play with each other. During my observation, I was focusing on the child’s behavior and recognizing the development of this child through his/her actions.
