Indigenous New Media Artists: Fusing the Past with the Future New media art is redefining what it means to be an Indigenous artist in Canada. New media art is exploring a new realm of mediums and simultaneously fusing their history with them. The following paper will discuss distinguished artist who are shaping the future of Indigenous art in Canada with the creative uses mediums. Trailblazing artists includes KCs Adams cybors photography which explores the hybridzation of humans and technology , Barry Ace's Trinity collection which features the fusion of traditional beading with electronic components and Andy Everson who explores digital media with Northwest Coast techniques. Ace's Niibwa Ndanwendaagan (My Relatives) encompasses an ideal creation of fusing the past with the future. This collection is made up of three bandolier bags, commonly known as friendships bags. The three bags each contain decorative tassels, elaborate wiring with different colouration on each bag and a decorative sling in which one would carry the bag. The decorative portion of the sash is essentially a wire grid in which computer components are intricately pieced onto it. These components include small LED lights, resistors and capacitates (Galleres West). The components display a wide range of hues and are specifically attached to the wire grind in order to resemble traditional beaded pattern such as floral designs. Within the central part of the bags lie the monitors which establish Ace's core values as an individual. These screen display personal digital photographs of Ace's family, traditional Anishinaabe dances and lastly of his close friend
