Is success the core source of fame and richness? Are the rich always happy, confident and attractive? Or, is it the opposite that the rich are stressed, regretting about the choices they made in life, and unsure of the life one lives? The media and mainstreaming marketing have convinced the society to accept a dangerous definition of success. Real and genuine success demands respect, integrity, appreciation, and patience (Jackson pg23). These traits are always not easy to attain particularly in the face of contemporary marketers who trick and govern the society's thoughts. Money does make life easier since it can buy conveniences and comforts that one needs; however, it never makes it any better. For instance, no amount monetary richness can purchase knowledge or wisdom since this requires dedicated learning and working hard. Better still; cash cannot help one to maintain a long lasting relationship to husband and wife simply because this is necessitated by sacrifice commitment and love (Bray & Howard pg.94). Besides, money cannot buy one the traits associated with a successful person. The characteristics essential for the life of a successful person are; love, respect, knowledge wisdom and, patience (Seymour pg.84). Money cannot in any way help to attain these traits! What money does is only tempting, corrupting and distracting people. According to Ralph life is made interesting and enjoyable learning to appreciate others and advocating time to good deeds like helping others community. This practice helps one to feel happy and satisfied (Sternberg pg.31-33). Furthermore, life can be made smoother by acting admirable and respectable in stressful situations. This kind of action contributes to avoiding conflicts and initiate life-long relationships. A better understanding of life, forming strong opinions and making informed decisions are the only attainable by developing leadership skills and learning patience. These characters define a prosperous individual (Alex & Trias pg.42). The founder of American success Institute Bill Fitz-Patrick described a fruitful person as one who is sturdy when strength is required and persevering when considerate measures are needed. Sound reasoning and judgment mark the difference between the mediocre and the genuinely successful people. (FitzPatrick ,pg5) Up to this point, so many questions like does it take all that to be successful or is success worth all this work? The only possible answer to these questions is yes.
