My Spiritual Journey Essay

I have only had three chapters in my life regarding my spiritual journey. The first chapter was from birth until I was twelve years old. My parents would take me to church with them every Sunday. Even when I was old enough to read the Bible on my own, I would get very confused on the details. I only understood the basic concepts of the spiritual dimension of Christianity, such as that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and was resurrected. When I was twelve, one Sunday the pastor’s sermon was on the topic of eternal life. At first, I was afraid when he was talking about how some people will go to hell. When my family and I left church, my mom took the time to explain to me how I could go to heaven if I prayed and asked Jesus Christ to be my personal savior. I did, and it opened the door for chapter two of my spiritual journey to begin. The …show more content…

Some of the highs of my life thus far are the birth of my sister, a vacation to Disney World, and acceptance to PA school. Some of the lows are dealing with illnesses and death of loved ones. I acquired more wisdom during the lows than the highs. Some wise lessons I have learned are money can’t buy everything, make the most of every situation, and treat others the way you want to be treated. Even if you are very successful in life and have a large income, money can’t buy happiness or love. Some of the wealthiest people in the world are also some of the most miserable and unsatisfied. I believe it is important to make the most out of every situation because you can’t always change your situations. There is always a lesson to learn in every situation. You should always treat people the way you want to be treated because you never know what that person is going through. Also, it is important to think about how you would feel if someone treated you unkindly. Overall, I have been blessed in life and I am very grateful for everything I
