My Passion For Theatre Research Paper

Terry Mante once said, “Talent is your vehicle. Passion is your fuel and potential is your destination.” People have talents, interests, and passions are the people who have access to the better joys of life. For me, my special passion is theatre. I have found that performing live on stage has shaped me, allowing for an outlet for me to express myself and constantly improve myself. I have been involved in theatre ever since middle school. My first official play was in the 8th grade at Farley Middle School: M*A*S*H. My character was Private Sue Todd, a small role but I was able to learn the ropes of theatre performance. After that play in the fall, Hutto High School was putting on its musical: A Little Mermaid, JR., and it offered chorus roles for the middle school students. I joined the chorus, and I was in an actual high school musical. In the spring, my middle school had another play: Attack of the Zombies. My character was Debbie, a much larger role, so I was able to expand my acting ability.

During the summer after freshman year, I took a theatre workshop for high school students at the Georgetown Palace Theatre: Into the Woods, JR. My character was Rapunzel’s Prince, which had a singing role, so I was still growing as an actor. I didn’t act again until Spring Break of my sophomore year, where the Georgetown Palace Theatre offered a Spring Break workshop for middle school and high school students: Alice in Wonderland, JR.
