Theatre is my intended major, in order to prepare I’ve dedicated the majority of hours in my days to studying, and maintaining an open mind to grow. I was casted as the lead in Ohlones Fall production, I was determined to do everything in my power to make the characters come to life. I woke up every morning, made my coffee, then I would go to the neighborhoods local park and practice my lines relentlessly. In this process not only have I grown as an actor, but my hunger and confidence has too. In theatre I have found a passion that I am not only willing to put my heart and soul into but crave to do. This awe and realization of how much physical and emotional effort it takes to strive towards greatness. In my time at Ohlone I have devoted myself entirely to my major by taking classes, reading about theatre, taking every opportunity the theatre program has to offer and acting with the company. I've been at Ohlone for three years and am ready to enhance my knowledge in theatre, embrace new challenges ahead, to get closer to my goal of being a professional actor. I'm ready to learn new styles and take different directions from other professors and students in my major. I seek the opportunity for this higher quality productions and to work with new actors who are just as ambitious as I am. I feel prepared for a university that will encourage me to leave my comfort zone and begin a new chapter in my life. What makes me stand out as a strong candidate is this principal idea that I believe in moving forward without regret.
