My name is Amayir Capers, but I like to go by the name “Mir”. In contemporary society I am classified as an millennial. Whereas society puts a lot weight on our shoulders by titling us with false claims of being lazy, entitled, and spoiled. In the contrary, experiences such as mine could proved that millennials are unrecognized for the hard work and dedication that we really produce. For example, we millennials are placed in positions where we are faced with constant competition. Throughout my life I have been faced with many obstacle that I had to overcome. Based on my experiences of being bullied, winning the Boxing State Championship, and negative encounters with the police, I’ve come to identify that sometimes negative situations could have positive impacts as to understanding our generation. …show more content…

Every day I felt the Sweat dripping down from my face, heart banging against my chest while punches come “bang, bang, bang”. That was an everyday experience for me at Franklin Smedley Elementary School, the kids no taller than five feet, embracing the eye of the tiger every day on my face, and I would ball up wishing I had some courage, some wisdom, some knowledge of confidence, self-defense. Days, weeks, months, even years went past with this repetitive taste of salt from the sweat and search for oxygen as my heart continued to beat faster and faster.
