Air! Air! Air! My lungs yelled as I was underwater but I pushed back that thought as I stayed a little longer down the bottom of my pool I needed to stay underwater a little longer if I were to break my record I could feel my heart beat pounding in my chest and the air that was held from the start I jumped into the pool wanting to explode out of my lungs just a bit more longer Ellis I repeated over and over in my mind just. a. little. bit. lo--
"Ahhhh"I screamed underwater my mouth now agape as the taste of chlorine was seeping into my mouth and my nose now I swam fast to the surface the moment fresh air went in I coughed and spit the extra water left in my mouth my nose felt like it was burning the same feeling was felt at my lungs I hauled

It felt longer though I should've counted!"I said to myself I wasn't even close to my record of two minutes and fifty seconds this was just a waste of my time I need to have control of my body and mind or I'm never going to past my highest record; I finally felt the cool air feeling like it wanted to seep into me and freeze my bone so I quickly grabbed my towel next to me and wrapped my self in it tightly I couldn't catch any kind of cold it'll stop me from practicing my swimming with my breathing for awhile which I couldn't afford if I were to join the swimming team I got up and slowly walked into the house still staring at my phone I went straight into the kitchen to get a cup of water to drink that's when I heard the clicking of the door …show more content…
"I know it looks like I was in the pool but I wasn't I was just in the shower too long-- wha-- what are you doing"I said as I saw her reach for my phone I tried to grab it first but she quickly scooped it up
"Your not joining that swimming team ever you must be crazy look at that time on your phone Ellison it's freezing outside you could of gotten really sick I'm tired of this there's nothing that you can say now your not joining thats it period"she said
"But I just needed extra practice you don't understand--"I said but was cut of again by her
"I'm not going to continue this conversation with you go take out the trash and wash the dishes"she said as she turned around to walk to her bedroom
I swore curse words at her as I went over to the trash and collected it and went outdoors to the garbage can I went back inside to do the dishes and by the time I was done it was dinner time
''I ordered some pizza tonight i'm not in the mood for cooking"my mom said as she entered the kitchen
''whatever"I replied
''The correct word is thank you I can cancel it anytime I want"she said
''Then cancel i'm not hungry anyways''I said
I smiled to myself and decided that I would go join in. With that, I took a huge deep breath and jumped into the salty water. The water was cool and refreshing; I felt it slide through my hair making it sway in the water. I swam deeper and deeper into the deep blue water. Sunlight streamed through it, lighting up the water around me turning it to gold. I kicked harder and I felt my muscles surge with strength and I pushed further. My lunges began to burn for the need of oxygen, but I refused to go up. I repeatedly told myself just a little bit longer. Until I was unable to proceed anymore without more air in my lungs, I swam to the top of the water taking a huge breaths, filling my lungs with air. I could then taste the salty water as it ran down my face and dripped over my lips. Just then I thought, I will never forget this moment, this place, or the experiences I felt while visiting

I dip my toes in—feels cold. My nerves rise up and spread like fire throughout my body while I watch—while I wait. Stomach hurts. All those butterflies clash and crowd. They come every time that I race—it never fails. There is so much noise—the splash of water, talking, yelling, whistling, cheering.
Hugo: I was intrigued to hear that you tried this 100-mile continuous swim four times, before you succeeded on the fifth attempt.
Have you ever had a moment in time that seems like minutes or hours even though it was only a few seconds? Have you ever seen everything before you play out in slow motion, where you are aware of everything around you, yet not knowing what was going on? I have, and as I look back on it, I feel very blessed and protected. On December 22, 01, I decided to take a little swim in our swimming pool and almost drowned. I still can remember it like yesterday. This incident almost cost me my life,
I shouted.”Mom,and Dad I'm really bored! I thought of doing some action like Jumping Jacks to keep my body in shape or Play a game with my brother to make time past I yelled!” When I started walking on the Cruise Ship It felt so, much I was gonna fall in the water and drown. It was so, important I suddenly, Started walking slowly being nervous every single
When I was a university student about two years ago, I enrolled in a scuba diving course. My scuba diving teacher had a big surprise: I didn’t know how to swim. In fact, I had a big fear of water. When I was a child, my parents tried to help me, so they made me take many swimming courses. Although I tried hard, I did not learn to swim. When I enrolled in the scuba diving course, I was still afraid of water. Every day when I entered the swimming pool, I battled with my fear. Fortunately, my courage won every time. Finally, one day while I was practising my dive, I realized that I did very well. So, finally, after six months of hard work, I completed the course. It is true that I was always the worst of the group, but in my own evaluation,
I was the first to put my gear on, then I helped Uncle Bob put his gear on. Each of us had two full tanks of 3000 psi each, which was plenty for a dive, each of us brought eight-millimeter wetsuits that was perfect for the cold-water temperature. After final gear checking, Uncle Bob jumped in the water and gave a surface okay, I later jumped in. The water was cold for the first 2 minutes, then the wetsuit started to work and I was warm. We descended slowly, equalizing the pressure in our ears, because Uncle Bob was more experience he decided faster than I did. We reach the main mast at 80ft below sea level, before the dive Uncle Bob informed me that there will be shark, but I didn’t think there would be this many shark. Uncle Bob led the way down to the top deck of the ship, then we checked our air and depth. I had used 500psi out of 6000psi of my air and Uncle Bob used 1000psi of his 6000psi. Uncle Bob led his way around the ship, as I followed I noticed that the sharks began to take interest in us. As Uncle Bob and I went around the ship, he went through a hole on the bottom, as I followed him in I noticed that the ship was still mostly intact. We
end of the pool I ran and jumped into the pool. Straight to the bottom I went.
Moreover, during a summer vacation with family and a co-worker, I decided to face my fears and learn to swim at a local pool. I approached the pool
I thought I was so fast that I could go in and out of the water before they could turn around. I started but my mom came and took me in her arms and made me sit down on the blanket she set up. She gave me a tiny price of watermelon just the size of my tiny hands. I stared at the watermelon first to see if it could move and then slowly started devouring it. It was nice and cold for the hot day. By the time I was done, my mom had already taken her book out and started reading. My dad was taking off his cap to come in the water with me. Soon, my mom realized that I have finished and told my dad to take me in the water. I was so excited. I knew how regular water felt but not the beach water. Was it hot? Was it cold? Was it tasty? Was it sweet? Was it yucky?
I will never forget the first time I went snorkeling, it was something I had been afraid to do up until the moment I touched the water. Beforehand all I could think about was what if I got attacked by a shark? I was too young to die and I felt like I was tempting fate. Then once I made the plunge into the water everything washed away, as if the waves carried the fear with them as they folded over me. I remember that day so clearly, rocking back and forth, up and down, I sat on a small glass bottom boat. The enormous ocean waves making me nauseas as I put my snorkel gear on. I hurried as fast as I could, knowing my nausea would go away as soon as I entered the water. This wasn’t the first time I have gotten sea sick, but it only shows up when the boat is sitting still. As soon as I got my equipment on I jumped into the water, fins first. I felt the sensation of goose bumps shivering up my whole body, tiny bubbles rolling over my body from breaking the surface, they ran from my toes upwards to break free at the ocean’s surface. Once the bubbles cleared, I looked around to see a new blue world I have never experienced before. I heard the sound of the ocean, mumbled by the sound of my deep breathing and the tanks of the more experienced scuba divers below me. It’s a very relaxing and peaceful sound, and if I had not been in such a new and unusual place I could have floated with my eyes closed for hours.
Moreover, during a summer vacation with family and a co-worker I decided to face my fears and learn to swim at a local pool. I approached the pool with a co-worker, who was an experienced swimmer and we began with safety, breathing, and coordination techniques. First, we focus on breathing techniques which exhaling through your nose/mouth as soon as you inhale; was a difficult critical task. Next, we learned the locomotion and range of how many limbs should maneuver in the water; that point we entered the water. Once in the water I began to loosen with fate of learning to swim with conference of conquering my quest. During my swimming session I reminisce of the
Ten minutes later, my mother calls us for dinner. As a girl, culture demands that I go into the kitchen to help my mum with serving the food, I should also be helping her with the cooking but I was only eight, I was barely allowed into the kitchen. Anyway, I go into the kitchen, take the tray of food she has laid out for my dad to the dining table, and had to go back to my parents’ r...
To add to my nerves, Miss Sarah surprised us with the fact that our parents had been invited to watch the test. Ineffectively wishing for them not to show up, my parents walked in and sat in the first row. Due to my unfaltering "luck," my name was the first called for the test. Those still unable to dive were able to opt for a shorter test; however, I was insistent on earning my grade. The intensity of the freestyle was daunting, but I executed it with ease. As I did before my freestyle, I took multiple deep breaths before the even more intimidating backstroke. Hitting my head or my hand on the concrete was a concern because I was swimming backwards; nonetheless, injuries were, fortunately, not an issue. A sight that I can clearly remember is the flash of my mother's disposable camera as I exited the pool with a smile on my face. I passed the class, but, looking back on my learning how to swim today, I do not understand why I was ever so
