Recommended: Decision making process

It all started when we were in our Kansas home, mom said by the time we got to Ohio I had to make up my mind. She was talking about if I wanted to drive back to Kansas later that week because my sister had to go to cheer camp or if I wanted to stay in Ohio with my dad. Now see my dad works in the oil and natural gas pipeline industry so he’s always in a new state. He had been working in Ohio for a few months be for we decided to go up there. I dismissed the decision my mom had given me and continued to pack. When I was packing I packed a little more just incase I decided to stay there. I had previously met Brittney and Camden so, I texted Brittney asking her if she wanted to go get her nails done with me and get some lunch because I hadn't been out of the campground in like nine days. The weekend afterwards my dad had to find a new campground in Michigan because his pipeline moved up there. My dad, his co-workers and I drove up there, because it was only about an hour to get there, to look for a campground. While we were driving I was searching for campgrounds and I found one to go look at. We went and looked at it and that was the campground we all decided on. Three days later, my mom called and said she would be on her way to help pack the camper to move but my sister, Bryce, had to stay home for cheer. My dad had work the day she was on her way so I cleaned to camper most of that day, and took care of Wade’s dogs. When she was about 100 miles away from the town I was in she called me and we talked then she hung up and called me right back. I was wondering why she was calling me but I answered and it was MY SISTER! This concept allows for a comprehensive, logical flow throughout a movie. Once the hero’s journey is thoroughly understood, anyone can pick out the elements in nearly every piece. The hero’s journey follows a simple outline. First the hero in question must have a disadvantaged childhood. Next the hero will find a mentor who wisely lays out his/her prophecy. Third the hero will go on a journey, either literal or figurative, to find him/herself. On this journey the hero will be discouraged and nearly quit his/her quest. Finally, the hero will fulfill the prophecy and find his/herself, realizing his/her full potential. This rubric may be easy to spot in epic action films, but if upon close inspection is found in a wide array of genres, some of which are fully surprising.

    The Hero’s Journey is a pattern of narrative that appears in novels, storytelling, myth, and religious ritual. It was first identified by the American scholar Joseph Campbell in his book A Hero with Thousand Faces. Campbell also discussed this pattern in his interview to Bill Moyers which was later published as a book The Power of Myths. This pattern describes the typical adventure of the archetype known as The Hero, the person who goes out and achieves great deeds. Campbell detailed many stages in the Hero’s Journey, but he also summarized the pattern in three fundamental phases: Separation, Ordeal, and Return that all heroes, in spite of their sex, age, culture, or religion, have to overcome in order to reach the goal. Alice in Wonderland, written by Lewis Carroll, provides a good example of the Hero's Journey. This story describes the adventures of Alice, a young English girl, in Wonderland. Although she lacks some of the stages identified by Campbell, she still possesses many of them that are necessary for a Hero to be considered a Hero.
