My Father Research Paper

On February 15, 1971, my dad was born in Miami Florida. Throughout his childhood my dad developed a relationship with many bad people and things. He grew up in the bad streets of Miami in a neighborhood called Overtown. Now on tv, you can see the neighborhood that my dad grew up in is now on the show the First 48. It amazes me that my dad got out of this neighborhood full of death, drugs, and gangs. He was exposed to the streets of Overtown at the young age of 8 years old, and from that day forward he was in trouble. I talked to my grandma and my dad and they said that the police brought my dad home around three to five times a week.

My dad has five siblings just from my grandma but on my grandpa’s side, we don’t know. Judge Fast knew every single one of my dad’s brother and knew my grandma on a first name bases. “Leoney, I’m going to help you out and put Charles into a boys club.” said the judge. The club was for boys that were juvenile delinquents; it was designed to get the boys to school, pick them up before school ended, and gave the boys after school teaching to help them with their educations. The club would take all the boys to all the University of Miami Dolphin games and they did this to show the boys a different life than what they were used to. The club also took the boys fishing and had the boys stay the night at the boys club to keep the boys away from the violence and the bad influences of the hood.
