First of all, I’d like to greatly thank the jury for coming and serving on this trial. Today, Mr. James King is being tried of the felony murder of Mr. Nesbitt. Mr. Nesbitt’s death is a sad truth to his family and his community. However, to place Mr. King as the murderer without solid evidence is preposterous. Remember, I’d like to remind the jury that if there is any reasonable doubt in the claim of Mr. King, you must vote not-guilty. I urge you to realise that by placing Mr. King in jail for 25 years to life, you will be compromising this young man’s entire future. I hope you make an informed decision to keep Mr. King out of jail. Now, I’d like to emphasize uncredible the witnesses who place King at the crimescene are. First of all, there is Mr. Sal Zinzi. This is a man who was being abused and tortured at Riker’s Island. By receiving this torture, Mr. Zinzi was desperate for any ticket out of jail. That ticket cam in the form of James King. All Mr. Zinzi was claim that he heard that James King had participated in the robbery. Then, he could cut a deal with the police to let him out of jail. Lorelle Henry. Ms. Henry claims to have seen two men in the drugstore while picking up medicine for her sick grandchild. She testified that she knew there was going to be an altercation in the drugstore. This prompted her to hurriedly take off. She never got a chance to take a good, hard look at the men in the drugstore. She probably only got a glimpse of the men. Then, when she went to the police office, she only saw 27 photographs. When she picked out Mr. King, she was unsure of her decision. She probably saw a man similar looking to Mr. King in the drugstore. However, she far from decisive in her choice.
