As well as being a dancer, Ohad Naharin is the artistic director of the Batsheva Dance Company. Throughout the film, the story of an artistic and spirited director, rehearsals held as well as performances are shown and the audience can see the hard work that he puts into making his performances. There are many scenes where he corrects his dancers and asks them to practice until it is what he believes is perfect. One of the dancers that he corrected is interviewed and she says that no one really understands what Naharin is looking for, and you cannot really tell what you did differently the time he says you did it right versus the first time. For example, in a scene where the dancers drop to the floor, he stops to help one of them perfect her fall. He says things like “do it like someone’s life depends on it” to encourage his dancers to give his all in each dance movement. Naharin makes him do it a couple of times and still seems dissatisfied with his energy. Eventually, he gets it and he moves on with the choreography. His tough way of directing is also shared with his dancers who say he is prone to yelling things like “you’re boring me!” while they are performing from the bottom of the stage. These examples of screenplay and dialogue gives rise to a strong storyline and conveys a personal understanding of who Ohad Naharin
