Don’t let the title fool you. Sliding doors has nothing in common with the obstreperous aluminum patio portals in soulless suburban houses. The film is insipid and sounds a little platitudinous and I’m saying that it’s platitudinous in the concept of cheating, not in the rewind formation. I mean Honestly if both guys were appearing to cheat would you envisage a relationship with someone you were in love with only to find out that they never even loved you at all? That they were only infatuated with you to begin with. No, I would never call this a love story. I never even thought about it until after I had watched the film. The two separate plots continue simultaneously constantly switching back and forth between the dual tracks as the story lines diverge more and more radically. Is it a workable concept? Perhaps. The two tracks separate with one Helen getting on the train and the other failing to catch the ongoing box like vehicle. With the Helen that never makes it to the train on time, she rewinds backward onto the top of the stairs with the appearance of digital effect and bridge-music. The same bridge-music that happens every time there is a match-cut on the screen. Eventually, the Helen that never caught the train finds out that her boyfriend was cheating on her with a lady that knew about the whole ordeal and breaks up with him.Now the Helen that makes this said train doesn’t find out about her cheating boyfriend named Jerry until much later in the plot. We’ll call her Helen #2. Now Helen #1 after breaking up with the douchebag, cuts her hair short, moves in with her fidus achate named Ana and meets a guy named James who appears to be cheating on her with his wife but we never know if that is fact because it is later stated that the wife and him broke up six months ago and the papers are going through. Now I'll give James some leeway because I generally like him as a character, and I will say that he wasn’t cheating on Helen only because he is a nice guy but that said even that doesn’t douse my suspicions.
