Hitch is about Alex “Hitch” Hitchens, the date doctor, who helps men get together with women who are out of their league or otherwise wouldn’t think about dating them. One of those men happens to be Alex Brennaman who is in love with Allegra Cole who happens to be his boss. Hitch is able to build up Alex’s courage and help him get the attention Allegra. At the same time Hitch is falling for Sara, who is a gossip columnist wondering who the new guy being seen with Allegra is. The movie is about falling love with the right person. With that right person often not noticing them. The key is communication between the two people, so then the person can get the attention needed. This happens when Sara and her best friend go to a speed dating get together. Hitch arrives, being direct with Sara about Albert being a great man and how in love he is with Allegra. Sara blasts back, once again assuming what Hitches motives are with his clients and his own. Hitch is opening up a little in this scene and Sara is not noticing because her mind is still clouded over what she assumes previously. Once Hitch realizes who the source is, he clarifies that the information is false and lets both Sara and her best friend know the truth. Later, Sara tries to apologize to Hitch for exposing his job and all the trouble she has caused. It was in fact not the bad business that she had thought originally, and in fact was doing something positive. The positive that Hitch was doing, was helping the guys communicate better with the women they like, instead of false pretenses. Interpersonal conflicts happen all the time and are not necessarily bad. In Hitch, there were many instances where some of these conflicts could have been avoided, had they communicated better. Ken Kesey's award-winning novel, "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest", was adapted into a film in 1975 written and directed by New York City native Bo Goldman and Czech director Milos Forman. Towards the end of the novel and film, Chief Bromden escapes from the ward. This scene is conveyed differently in the novel and film; however, there are evident similarities between each form of media. This scene is important to the plot because it wraps up the entire storyline. In the film and novel, similarities within Chief Bromden’s escape from the ward include the way Chief escaped, how he couldn't hear anyone in the ward due to being deaf, and how McMurphy assisted Bromden with gaining his confidence to lift the panel and throw it through the window. McMurphy essentially changed Bromden to help him break out of the asylum and back into the real world.
The use of suspense in “The Hitchhiker,” keeps the audience in a state of panic, wondering what the outcome will be. The protagonist looks back upon the torturous six days, remembering his protective mother, and the commonplace traveler. Fear mixed with suspicion, he identifies the hitchhiker on the most inappropriate hitchhiking roads, set on terminating the foreboding individual. Relationships are complicated, not every relationship will last, and this seems to be the most apparent with romantic relationships, as these types of relationships two partners will often come together and open up to each other and become very close. Every relationship needs effective communication, and this is evident in the film, The Breakup; starring Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn. This film ties in with Interpersonal Communications very well as it portrays its message of poor communication very well. Models of Relational Dynamics, couples conflict styles, crazymakers, and conflict in relational systems are some of the topics that the film perfectly depicts.
It was incredibly difficult to not to pick one of my favorite films for this project, such as A Clockwork Orange, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, and Jaws. However, I went out of my comfort zone and picked a genre of film I’ve never become familiar with- Western. They have a very good time together cheering and talking. Al tells Allegra how great it is to be in such great seats and to be with her and also teacher her how to whistle. At the end of the date the couple moves into Knapp’s third stage: intensifying. When Al brings Allegra home he walks her up the steps and doesn’t do anything at first but then gains the courage and kisses her. Hitch and Sarah have their second date with her boss at the Fulton Fish Market. Originally she asks him to come to get information for her job, but after he has an allergic reaction Sarah takes care of him. She gets him allergy medicine. After they are walking and they too move to the intensifying stage of their relationship. They talk about love and important things in their lives. Amy Heckerling’s movie Clueless focuses on an upper middle class 16-year-old girl, Cher, who lives in a nice neighborhood with her father and stepbrother, Josh. Cher and her friend, Dionne, take in a new girl, Tai, to help her fit into their high school. All of the major characters in the movie are in adolescence, which ranges from 10-19 years of age. The urge to merge in the society contradicts individuality. Carolyn, Janie and Lester– the Burnham family sets the framework and motion of the film. They epitomize three levels of mergence in the society or release of their individuality. Wife of Lester, Carolyn is a real estate saleswoman who craves for success. She wears delicate makeup, maintains an undulant figure, and strains to behave with decorum. In a scene while she is at her open house, she tirelessly repeats to herself, “I will sell the house today”. However, she fails; she enters a room, shutters all windows with elegance, then she cries, screams, and manically slaps herself in the face, “Shut up! Stop it! You weak! You baby! Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!” (12:42-13:22). Carolyn’s pursuit of success and social approval reveals her closing off individuality in return for mergence in society. The film chronicles the histories of three fathers, and manages to relates and link their events and situations. First is Mitchell Stephens and his relationship with his drug-addict daughter. Second is Sam, and the secret affair he is having with his young daughter Nicole. He is somewhat of a narcissistic character because of his preoccupation with himself and pleasing himself, and his lack of empathy throughout the film for the others in the town. Third is Billy, who loves his two children so much that he follows behind the school bus every day waving at them. Billy is also having an affair with a married woman who owns the town’s only motel. On the exterior the town is an average place with good people just living their lives. But, beneath all the small town simplicity is a web of lies and secrets, some which must be dealt with in the face of this tragedy.
She is a straight A student, who is sweet and attractive, but not in a noticeable way. She isn’t involved in the social scene and has a habit of thinking she’s not worth anything. The world can stomp right over her, including her mom who could ruin her daughter's dream of going to college. Sutter intends to change all of this in the weeks before graduation. As he casually takes her to parties, she tutors him in geometry, and asks her to prom, she falls for him. Much to Sutter's surprise, he begins to fall for her as well. “The Help” is a white mock feel good movie, which seems to feature amnesia of racial conflicts in the South as its primary theme (Stockett, 2009). Author Natasha McLaughlin suggests that ‘The Help’ focuses upon the home and the relationship between African-American domestics and the laws of Jim Crow’s neglected ‘other half’: Jane Crow (McLaughlin, 2014). The American Civil Rights Movement mainly accommodates the public with a view concentrated upon a male dominant perspective but appreciations to Stockett and her moving interpretation of the relationship of Caucasian housewives and their African-American maids the public gets a rare white-washed version of events dealing with the civil rights movement going on within the interior of the households
The Importance of Being Earnest film produced in 2002 compares to the original version reveal different changes. The change modify the motion which the author would like to transmit in the original document. The important changes are the modification of some stage of direction. The actors changed some stages of direction and created their own. The second change is skipping of some sequences. The actor of the film choose to ignore some sequences which were in the original version. Moreover, the actors added some stages which were not in the preview version. Based on a true story, the movie ‘Lone Survivor’ features four Navy SEALs that set out on a mission to Afghanistan with orders to capture and kill Taliban leader Ahmad Shah. The Navy SEALS are detected by villagers and the mission was compromised. Ultimately, the mission had been discovered and the men found themselves surrounded by dozens of Taliban soldiers. One of the Navy SEAL soldiers managed to dispatch to base and retrieve assistance but the Taliban shoot down the helicopter. During battle, three of the Navy SEAL soldiers were killed leaving one still alive.
