We’re Dreamers, It’s Not Our Fault. Popular opinion tells us that millennials are lazy people with no drive to do anything because they see their destination instead of their journey. I would like to believe that this millennial behavior stretches not only from 1980 to 2000, but instead this attitude is being gradually instilled in the new generations as well, leading them to boring and “un-impactful” lives, which is what most millennials do. This is a shame because every millennial and likewise kid wants to grow up to be Superman or Neo from “The Matrix” and change the world in similar dramatic fashions, and this isn’t necessarily our fault, it’s the fault of our parents, and perhaps the fault of a failed society. In Simon Sinek’s speech, Millennials In the Workplace (2017), he goes into great detail about the main consequences that Millennials face in the working world and why those consequences exist in the first place. He begins by talking about his first point, “Failed parenting strategies, where they were told that they were special - all the time, they were told they can have anything they want in life, just because they want it.” (2017, 1:55) This point I believe is one of the most important because …show more content…

Millennials can make an impact in the companies and in the world, but technology isn’t always the way to go about it. If these kids learn to form good business and life relationships then I believe that they can live meaningful and enjoyable lives like the ones we and our parents dreamed
