I believe Michael Waterson would be the most responsible for the death of Bart Matthews. Waterson is the CEO of Silicon Techtronic. Therefore, he gives orders and is accountable for his company’s outcome. Waterson demand that the robot be completed by a certain date no matter what. Thus, putting his employees under pressure and creates opportunity for errors. This pressure caused one employee, Ray Johnson Robotics Division Chief, that worked under him to do unethical things to meet the deadline. Also, Waterson acted unethically and irresponsibly by placing Sam Reynolds in charge of the robot project. Reynolds lacked experience with robots and modern user interfaces, because he worked in data processing. Waterson pressuring Johnson and placing Reynolds caused this ethical dilemma to occurred. If Waterson chose someone more experienced with robots and modern user interfaces, then this would not have not had happened. Similarly, if Waterson had communicated with Johnson more and talk the problems out then Johnson would not have done the things he did. Then this will be the area I will start off. First, Waterson would need to tell Johnson to finish this project by a certain date, but however let Johnson know that if there is an issue with that, Johnson needs to talk to him. Waterson needs to related and communication with Johnson on a better level instead of putting pressure on him. Plus, Johnson and Waterson are not on a good term to start off with. Thus, this is key to start off the project. Once Johnson understands Waterson order’s then he can continue and successfully give orders to the employee under him.
