Meet the Robinsons is a cartoon sci-fi movie that uses time travel to deal with the ethics of our past, present, and future. Louis is a kid unable to find a couple that wants to adopt him, so his solution is to find his mother to adopted by her. After an experience with his future family, he realizes that he is who is because he was put up for adoption. He uses this experience along with his inventor attitude to keep moving forward, unlike “Goob” who held onto the past. The movie shows what the future is like for each choice, a Utopia created by the inventor himself, or a world overrun by mind-controlling hats.

In Meet the Robinsons, Louis has trouble finding couples that want to adopt him. He realises that if he can’t get adopted, the only way to find a home is to find his mother. This becomes his main focus throughout the movie because he is tired of being denied and just wants to find a home. This puts him in the same boat as Goob because his choice to find a piece of past motivates his future similar to Goob’s grudge against Louis for keeping him awake at nights.

It took his future-self more than a hundred times to create a working time machine, but that didn't stop him. Though perseverance may not apply to me on the same scale, I still had to persevere. Failing an important test or not writing a good essay never stopped me because failing a test or getting a bad grade is never the end of the world.
