Massage therapy has a long record in cultures around the world. In the modern day, people use many variety and types of massage therapy for a variety of health-related purposes. This information provides a general overview of massage therapy and suggests sources for additional information. Also, the Massage therapy is also corresponding, meaning it complements allopathic care and is generally accepted by allopathic providers as an actual practice. Other examples of complementary medicine include acupuncture and lifestyle changes such as practicing yoga. Many providers will prescribe massage therapy to help rehabilitate an injury or soothe pain caused by diseases, such as cancer, or relief from treatments such as chemotherapy. In these cases, the massage therapist often provides follow-up notes to the prescribing or referring physician. Furthermore, relaxation styles are a very important part dealing with massage and its usage for alternative medicine. Relaxation styles of massage offer gentle techniques.
