The year was 1979. A corrupt government in disarray. Widespread poverty the country. One man, Maurice Bishop chose to take a stand. A stand that would forever change Grenada. Bishop was considered a great leader, he created a revolution strong enough to overthrow the old corrupt government and build a new, better one. On May 29 1944 Bishop began his life in St. George, the capital of Grenada. As his Parent’s only son they expected the best of him. These expectations and his hard work led to his great success in school. At the age of 18 he began his law studies in London, where he was deeply influenced by great leaders including Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X. By 1970 he graduated with high honor and was known for charisma and oratory
