King had a dream so big if filled up the entire world. With his example of nonviolence and perseverance he proved the words we all knew to be true. He, and only he, did that, he proved that, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, all men are created equal.” (Jefferson, 1776) He was always unfaltering in his decision to do the right thing. Like he once said, “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”(Dr. King, 1963) But he never became silent when the stakes rose, and with just words he changed the history of America. King was assassinated, everyone mourned for a long time. But surprisingly, although he was stopped, the movement for civil rights wasn’t. Just like he said it would be, because God was with that movement. Even though racism is still going on in the world, especially for Christians, there is still hope that one day someone will step up and say, “No, this isn’t right,” and it will stop just like it did here. It is our responsibility to do that just like King wanted. I for one am honored to carry on his legacy of freedom for our world. So really, all those people need is a person just like King. Martin Luther King Jr. was a man of his time. He saw that segregation was wrong and decided to do something about it. He endured through hard times, all the while working to better the lives of others. With his help many people began to take a stand against the racial inequality and injustice against African Americans. He left a lasting impact and improved the lives of thousands living in America and changed the future for those yet to come.

Dr. King is a man who is over flowed of nothing but creditability. Not once he pointed his finger as a child would and blame the Caucasian men for forcing the African-American to attempt to survive a horrific ordeal of history. He encouraged his brother and sisters of color not to protests with bitter and physical violence but to engage hands and peacefully demand to be treated equally. He encouraged his colored brothers and sisters to go back to where they are from with not despair in their hearts, but hope that one day there will be freedom within reach.
King wielded the power of Rhetoric in a way very few people could even hope to immolate, let alone create such an affect in American history. Even the people that disagreed with King could not help but be moved to change their ways because of the logical proof behind his words. Utilizing ethos, pathos, and logos, King directly caused the success of the Civil Rights movement and defined the future of the United States in 17 short minutes.
Martin Luther King Jr. was a man who believed in fighting for the rights of African Americans in the United States. He made many sacrifices for the people he was fighting for and never stopped until he was shot after a protest. MLK changed many people’s lives by standing up in front of thousands of people to share his “Dream” for America. No one can change the impression he made on not just the African Americans, but as well as the whites. He will forever be remembered for the changes he fought for when he never got the chance to actually see the change happen.
King is valuable to America is because when the South was segregated he came up with a solution to try to improve this matter. He didn’t only speak for blacks; he spoke for everyone that was not treated equal as an American citizen. He always had the knowledge ever since he was younger, he was the top in his class at Crozer, and he even dressed appropriately daily. In addition, he enjoyed talking in front of people; when he was 14 years old, him and his teacher traveled to a competition where he gave a speech called “The Negro and the Constitution”. He learned this non-hatred attitude from his father Martin Luther King Sr. or often called “Big Daddy” who was a Baptist minister at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. One day his father decided to get Jr. some new shoes from the store, but he never received them because his father left the store because the owner wouldn’t sell him the shoes in the front and the owner told “Big Daddy” the only way he could purchase them was if he went to the back. When someone came and bombed his house with his family still inside he didn’t have rage or any anger towards the bombers, he just continued what he was

Before his protests in the south blacks, were treated like second rate citizens. It was uncommon to see blacks and whites using the same public restroom, or drinking from the same water fountain. Dr. King created a legacy that carried on far beyond his death. He had a dream that blacks and whites could live together in peace, free of segregation.

King traveled the country making speeches and inspiring people to become involved in the Civil Rights Movement. He organized non-violent student sit-ins and fought for the rights of the black population. In his speech, he proclaimed a free and better nation of equality and that both races, the blacks and the whites, should join together to achieve common ground and to support each other instead of fighting against one another. King’s vision is that all people should be judged by their “personality and character and not by their color of skin”(‘I Have a Dream”). All the points he made in his speech were so strong that lots of people were interested in his thoughts.
