Voting is an important concept that is virtually used in everyday life. In that it helps determine very simple dilemmas such as what to eat at a restaurant, and for very difficult dilemmas, such as who should we elect to be in our governor. There are multiple types of voting methods, but their is one that stands out, and that is the Condorcet Candidate, or otherly known as the pair wise comparison (head to head). This method was developed by Marquis de Condorcet, who was born September 1743 and had died March 28th 1794. Condorcet had studied at Jesuit College in Remis, and had continued his studies at College de Navarre, which is located in Paris. Condorcet was greatly known for his essay “Essay on the Application of Analysis to the Probability of Majority Decisions,” which included his famous work with Condorcet’s Paradox, and Condorcet Method. With recent discovery in 2001, finding lost manuscripts of Llull’s work, show that Llull is actually the creator of the Border Count method, and the Condorcet Method. They have been discovered by both Nicolas de Condorcet, and Charles de Borda many centuries later. Llull had developed these early forms of voting in the thirteenth century. Ramon Llull was not only a Mathematician, he was also a philosopher, and a Franciscan tertiary, which is a person who adhere to the teachings and spiritual disciplines of Saint Francis of Assisi. Llull’s method is based on a Robin Round Tournament, which is very similar to the Condorcet method of which each contestant in a round.
