We wake up every day to know that a new technology system is taking over something humans work with. This began from the day “industrialization” was invented humans woke up to find machines doing their work. Since then technology began taking many roles in daily life. We know that few of those technology systems have been beneficial, yet we wonder what the future life will be like with a full technology life system. This topic makes us think of the valuable things that may disappear one day in the future, an example of that is books. Today, we are introduced to the “e-books” known as the electronic reading device which includes all books and digit texts to read. His educational degrees are held from the known Oberlin College, Yale University and Harvard Business School. He is the author of “Don’t Bother Me Mom – I’m learning”, “Digital Game- Based Learning”, and the well known as mentioned on Gale Group website “Teaching Digital Natives: Partnering for Real Learning and from Digital Natives to Digital Wisdom”. If you read through his writings you’ll end up remembering the common term he uses which is “Digital” which tells us that Prensky’s focus is on trending this term in our educational system. “Colleges Should Mandate That All Textbooks Be Digitized” is one of the articles Prensky wrote, and its purpose is to make people ban books and instead replace them with the “Digitized” e-books. His thesis was stated clearly from the opening of his argument. Prensky’s way of organization was very good as he made the readers move step by step within six points that focus on his approach. Through the argument, we realize that Prensky’s information is mostly stated by his own experience and knowledge which is pretty much impressive. It’s very clear that he has his own voice heard through the argument. He had good facts that are very much persuasive. He did include the voice of his opponents but I would state that it wasn’t very effectively done. The interesting thing I concluded about Prensky’s style of writing is that he always focuses on one thing till the end, meaning you wouldn’t be lost in reading his writings, instead from the moment a reader starts reading he/she would know the point and continue exploring about it till the end.
