Many people go through difficult times sometime in their life, and often have to overcome it during times of adversity. Well how does one do it? With these three stories you’ll see how each character was able to overcome whatever struggle he/she has during times of adversity. Hope, faith, and belief are three things that come to play in how one maintains hope and empathy during times of adversity. In order for one to maintain hope and empathy during times of adversity one must overcome fear and never lose hope. Malala Yousafzai fought for girls education as a child. On October 9, 2012, a gunman shot Malala when riding the bus home from school. Luckily Malala survived but this incident didn’t stop her, Malala continued to speak out about the importance of education for girls. What brought Malala to this was an event that had changed everything. It was when the Taliban invaded Malala’s home and took control, Malala was only 10 years old at the time. Malala attended school during the time the taliban took over, and Malala decided to give a speech called, "How Dare the Taliban Take Away My Basic Right to Education?"( Yousafzai 2). Even though Malala used a fake name, the taliban was still sending death threats to Malala and her family. Even with death threats Malala continued to fight for the rights of girls education, which is how the incident had happened and overall changed her life. Many started to recognize malala’s bravery and rewarded Malala with a nobel prize for what she had achieved. Till this day she makes it an obligation to make sure every girl has a chance to receive an education.
