The tragedy Macbeth by William Shakespeare is a tale of an honorable man that fell from grace. This play has some original aspects, but not all is original. For example, there is a scene with a dark spirit named Hecate. The scene does not allow the play to flow as it should; it is believed to have been added on to the original. Also, Hecate is a flat character and Shakespeare is known for his dynamic characters. The songs and scenes, however, can be legally and ethically performed. In that time there were no copy right laws or regulations in place to abide by as there is today.
There are many scenes throughout the play that make the play happen so to speak. Therefore, if they were to be removed the play would crumble. For example, when the …show more content…

In Holinshed, there are three prophecies present and supernatural creatures as Shakespeare uses in Macbeth. (Holinshed excerpt from Chronicles of England) The unearthly quality that he kept from Holinshed sets the mood for what kind of supernatural being the witches are meant to be, which, is evil and powerful. (Holinshed excerpt from Chronicles of England) Shakespeare uses the part from The Holy Bible Samuel says, “Why do you ask me, since the LORD has turned from you and become your enemy?” (ESV 28:16) It relates back to the play shortly before the murder Lady Macbeth requested to be unsexed and for the heavens to cover its eyes from her. Also, nature turns against Lady Macbeth and Macbeth due the murder and the cruelness of the situation. He is allowed to use the piece as a helpful inspiration to aid in writing his play due to it being public
