Love is Love

Homosexuality expresses a desire for the same respect, love, and commitment that is shared within heterosexual committed, relationships today. Through time, sexuality has been pulled back in forth, both with the government as well as with religion. The strict boundaries that are placed upon what homosexuals can and can not do are destroying their lives. There is a constant desire for acceptance, among those whom are against homosexual love, which decreases the availability for equal rights amongst homosexuals. Homosexuals are no different that ordinary people, they just have a different sexual preference. With all of the ridiculous rumors and people’s strong ignorance, the homosexual population is being looked down upon. Laws are forbidding homosexuals from being able to fully express their love through marriage. There are shared feelings between homosexual couples and heterosexual couples so it would be unfair to say that homosexual love is not true love. Donald DeMarco argues that love is something that is only meant for a man and a woman. The boundaries for love are being drawn and they are closing many doors to show complete ignorance. Love should be a personal option and not something that should be labeled by any particular person, book, or idea. Love is a universal feeling that is shared amongst people everywhere. This concept should not only be available to heterosexuals and it is unjust to say that a homosexual relationship fails to express true love. Donald DeMarco explains that, “Augustine taught that it must be consistent with the love of God.” God is known for loving all people no matter their race, heritage, actions, behaviors, emotions, and background.
