When I was growing up I saw lots of opportunities to learn around me, which is a reliable reason why I asked countless questions. It is known that children are quite curious. I was no exception to this rule. As a child I read every road sign and billboard around me. Reading and writing have made my life an exciting experience. Without having read the books I have and writing the journals I did, my life would be upsettingly one-dimensional. Although I read many books during my childhood, two of them stick with me today. They inspired me as a child to write a few songs and motivated me to journal off and on throughout my entire life. My life has been changed for the better because of my experience with reading and writing. There are two stories I vividly remember reading over and over again. I can still picture the illustrations alongside the author’s words. Because of these stories I found a sense of creativity in myself. One of those stories is Love You Forever by Robert Munsch. “I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be” (Munsch). the Picky Eater by Marc Brown. Character growth is a hefty trait of this story. D.W. the Picky Eater has a large impact on me because you watch D.W. become less of a picky eater though out the book. Just like when people are children they are usually picky eaters and as they mature they learn to expand their palate and eat a wider variety of foods. I remember this book cover to cover today.
