The goal of the Lindenwood Victim Empowerment Task Force is to aid and support victims of crime as they move throughout the criminal justice process, provide them with assistance, resource information and services.
Purpose: Our purpose is to empower victims by promoting their rights and wellbeing which have been affected by crime, in all aspects of the criminal justice system. Also, to advocate for the enforcement of these rights, coordinate with other organizations in the community to ensure victims of crime are treated with dignity, fairness and respect.

Corrections
• When a probation officer is assigned an offender, whose case involved a crime against a person, the p.o. will attempt to stay in contact with victim or their families who are owed restitution and be responsible for collecting restitution from offenders.
• When a probation officer is assigned an offender, whose case involved a crime against a person, the p.o. will notify the victim if there is a probation violation by the offender.
• When a probation officer is assigned an offender, whose case involved a sex crime against a person, the p.o. will supervises all offenders convicted of sexual offenses through intensive supervision and electronic monitoring.
• When an offender is scheduled to appear before the parole board for consideration for release, an agency staff member will notify the victim, proving them with additional details.
B. Training
Police
All police officers must participate in a 2-day 16 hour of training on victim rights, victim trauma and victim impact. Completion of 10 hours of online training that focuses on special victims. 2-day training is taught by victims of violence and victim
