CREEK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE Larceny Deputy’s Assignment: I was dispacthed to the Milfay First Batist Church for a larceny complaint. I arrived and spoke to Justin Fin, who stated his vehicle was broken into. Victim/Reporting Person Summary: Justin said he went out to start his vehicle the morning of Sunday, Febuary 4th, 2018 around 8:00am. Justin noticed the property in his truck and van had been gone through. Justin said his wife's purse was missing from the van. Justin said the purse had his wife's credit cards and identifacation cards. Justin said the purse also had $30.00 dollars in cash inside the purse. Justin was not sure what time the property was stolen from his vehicle. Witness Information: None Suspect Information: Unknown
Bermudez told me the purse did not belong to her. I asked Bermudez what was the can she dropped and she said, “I was drinking. The can belongs to me.” I asked Bermudez if there is anything illegal inside of the purse that I needed to know about and she said, “No.” I told Bermudez to sit in the backseat of my vehicle and she complied. I approached and grabbed the salmon colored purse I saw Bermudez drop. Laying on the ground next to the salmon colored purse was 1 24oz Black Berry Steel Reserve Alcoholic beverage (half full). I grabbed both of the items and returned to the hood of my vehicle. I searched the purse and found several large blue trash bags inside. I searched the trash bags and found 1 used methamphetamine pipe. I asked Bermudez if the methamphetamine pipe belonged to her and she said, “No.” I asked Bermudez if she uses any drugs and she said, “No. I found that
On Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at approximately 1956 hours, Officer Reinbold #7400 and I (Officer Guerrero #3310) were dispatched to 1113 Marengo Avenue, in regard to a vandalism that just occurred. Dispatch advised the victim (later identified as Kristyn Cota) saw two male juveniles spray painting her fence. Cota advised dispatch she was following both subjects and they were last seen running southbound on Marengo Avenue, from Hammond Street. The first suspect was described as male Hispanic, approximately 15 years old, wearing a gray shirt and dark colored shorts. The second suspect
On 01-01-17 at 0023 hours I was monitoring the radio and heard that Officer Harrell #3441 and Officer Thebeau #8402 were involved in a vehicle pursuit in the area of Fair Oaks Avenue and Corson Street. I responded to the above location to assist. They advised responding units that the suspect was involved in a traffic collision on the eastbound 210 Freeway Fair Oaks Avenue off-ramp.
Police reported to a robbery in progress and found a Jeep backed up to the door of the restaurant upon arriving. Two suspects were walking out with handfuls of stolen merchandise. The robbers, a man and a woman, were arrested at the scene. These robbers were 23-year-olds, married couple Erika and Benjamin Sifrit.
I arrived on scene at 17:10 hours. A juvenile was standing under the carport beside a white Dodge Durango. The reporting party, Kaella D. Barners (F/B, DOB: 05/04/1977), exited the front door when she seen deputies arrive. I approached the juvenile, Katera Edwina Barners (F/B, DOB: 08/29/2000). Katera was calm and cooperative. Katera had been upset at her mother. I observed an end table on the hood of the vehicle. I asked Katera if she put it there. Katera said she threw it there in attempt to damage the vehicle.
Dostoevsky uses Lebezyatnikov as another way to talk about his own opinion on the ideas of such “progressives” (376). His argument against the ideas of progressives is intensified with Lebezyatnikov because his actions don’t seem to be congruent with his stances. Lebezyatnikov’s treatment of Katerina Ivanovna and Sonya do not comply with his ideas of free love and the equality of women. Dostoevsky does not agree with the progressive “‘younger generation’” (378) as he characterizes Lebezyatnikov as belonging to “[a] varied legion of semi-literate half wits”(378). Clearly Dostoevsky is not fond of these people. Progressive ideas can be beneficial when actually acted upon. Perhaps he is not arguing that the ideas themselves are bad but that the people who “vulgarize them” (378) are the reason why these ideas make no actual progress.
At this time I made a U-turn at the intersection of Leo Kidd Ave and Ridge road and proceeded west on Ridge road. As I approached the scene I observed the blue tow door Toyota leaving the scene at a high rate of speed traveling North on U.S. Highway 19. I pulled up to the intersection a white female stated that a woman in a blue Toyota 2 door crashed into the rear of her and took off.
Crime in the United States from 2014 to 2013 has decreased. According the FBI’s page, the definition of “violent crime” is, composed of four offenses: murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. Violent crimes are those offenses that involve force or threat of force. These crimes have decreased from a little over 1.250,000 to an estimated 1,165,383 nationwide. Aggravated assaults accounted for 63.8%, robbery offenses were 28%, rape was 7.2%, and murder was 1.2%. Not only is violent crime rate reducing, but so is property crime. Property crime includes larceny-theft, burglary, motor-vehicle theft, and arson. From 2010 to 2014 property crime has reduced from an estimated 9,100,000 to 8,277,829. It declined 4.3% from a 2013 estimate. Loses from 2014 estimate $14.3 billion.
Caren Campano was a 42 year old woman working a decent job, and married to a man 15 years younger than her. Chris, her husband, was a drug addict that did not have steady income. The night she disappeared they had a large argument, and according to Chris, they both left the house in separate directions to cool off. She left on foot, and he left in the truck to a bar. The next morning he called her job asking if she was at work and they said she never showed up. He called and made a missing person’s report. The investigators went to their house and stated the house was in good condition, and did not look like she left. There was no signs of a fight. However, they found a large brown stain that was still wet next to the bed. When they tested it, it was positive for blood, and when they pulled the carpet back, there was an even larger blood stain on the cushioning under the
Crime and Punishment consists of many people who have committed distinct crimes, and all of them have served their punishments in one way or another. Raskolnikov was one of the main characters in the novel. Raskolnikov had committed the crime of a premeditated murder. Svidrigailov, on the other hand, did things because they made him feel good. Svidrigailov’s biggest crime was falling in love with Dunya. There are many ways a person can commit crime and there are many ways they can pay the punishment. Raskolnikov’s definition of crime was killing someone and defending himself by thinking that he had done nothing wrong. According to Svidrigailov, crime can be committed by doing something as harmless as falling in love. Some people can pay the punishment for the crime they committed by letting their inner conscience bite them, whereas, some people can make their own life miserable by wishing for something that just wasn’t meant to be.
Police officers have enough power as it is and with civil asset forfeiture, they are given even more power. They are allowed to take our homes, our money, and our prized possessions if they have proof beyond a reasonable doubt that it’s involved in a crime. Civil asset forfeitures also vary by state. Most people don’t even go after the police in court for the stuff that they seize from them due to the process they have to go through. This cases tend to appear as United States of America v. 120,000 dollars in currency. Civil asset forfeiture is something that needs to be put to a stop because of the little limit to what can be done with the money and some of the people not being directly affected by it.
Maybe this is something to think about. Someone has an assignment. S/he is told that it is an honor but some rules make the person alone and hurt. Lois Lowry's book, The Giver, the Chief Elder, old and honorable, selects Jonas, a member of the utopian community to be the 'The Receiver of Memory.' But she says and the rules states that Jonas's training will involve lots of pain, that he is allowed to lie, and cannot take any medications. Jonas's assignment of his is more like a punishment instead of an honor like the Chief Elder told him.
People of color, particularly African Americans and Latinos, make up the abnormally high rate of fifty six percent of all incarcerated people in the United States, though their overall population within the country constitutes about half that (Criminal Justice Fact Sheet). There is great debate as to why this exists, however the association between people of color and crime remains factual. At Bronxdale High School, students are arrested and expelled after pulling the fire alarm. This paper will argue that handcuffing young men of color for the non-violent crime of pulling the fire alarm within the school walls creates a criminal identity within the self of student, feeds the school-to-prison pipeline, limits access to education
According to our book, investigators have noted that organisms, including humans become more energetic and vigorous when rewards are given (Bartol & Bartol, 2016). Further just as cats bite and dogs bark, humans may also become more irritable and rambunctious. This can be called upon by the internal slate called frustration. To define frustration induced criminality, it is easy to understand when behavior directed at a specific goal is blocked, arousal increases, and the individual experiences a drive to reduce it (Bartol & Bartol, 2016). Frustration is an unpleasant Arousal of a behavior stimuli.
