Johnny Moore woke up in a state of ecstatic stupor, it was the first day of summer after all. He had just finished the 8th grade and he was going to make the most out this summer, it was the last one he had with all his friends until they moved away to different schools. But for now, he wasn’t going to worry about that; he was just going to enjoy the ride and not worry about the destination. As Johnny got ready for the day, the sun continued to climb into the sky, encompassing the small Massachusetts town of Elmridge in a golden hue, a still heat in the air. They called him Brain because he’s smarter than the rest of them, and he is really good at trivia. Like, really good. A few years back, Johnny and some others speculated that his parents actually locked him in his room when he was child, with Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune on loop, leading to Brain becoming the king of trivia. Brain was shorter than Johnny and if you ever went swimming with him, you would probably realize that there are 206 bones in the human body because you would be able to count them all. Johnny and Brain have been friends since Kindergarten, on the first day they sat next to each other and decided to become friends, and so they did. What Brain lacks in athletic prowess however, he makes up with his flawless technique. He was the best pitcher in the bunch, and combined with Johnny being a great hitter, putting them on the same team at the Sandlot was a killer combination. Terry’s uncle’s son’s cousin’s brother’s father is Jackie Robinson, the first African American baseball player to play in Major League Baseball. If Jackie could be as good as he was and make an impact so big on the entire country, then Terry wanted to do the same. Terry was a good kid. He tried in class, despite his incredible ability to forget all of the information during a test. He was a power house through and through, if you ever had to do one of two things, beat him in an eating contest, or place a bet against him knocking the ball 120 miles per hour back off the bat, you would probably lose
