Donald John Trump is one of the wealthiest men in the world with a net worth of, according to Forbes, $3.1 billion. Trump was born into a wealthy family on June 14, 1946 at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, New York City, New York. His father, Fred Trump, was a popular housing contractor because he built and sold houses to families in World War II. It was at his father’s real estate company that Trump began to master the real estate market and acquired the character traits necessary for a successful businessman.
Trump attended many schools before taking over his father’s business. When he was thirteen, Trump’s father shipped him off to boarding school at the New York Military Academy due to disciplinary issues. Elizabeth Trump, Donald Trump’s grandmother, founded the company when Fred Trump was eighteen to give him a kick start into the business. Unfortunately, there are no specifications as to how long it took to start Elizabeth Trump & Son nor whether or not she was successfully the first time. Fred Trump later fell under scrutiny from the U.S. Senate committee for wartime profiteering and the U.S. Justice Department's Civil Rights Division for civil rights violations. Upon completing his education at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Donald Trump decided he wanted to go into the same business as his father. When Trump then became of age, his father named his CEO giving him control over the family real estate empire. Trump has built on his father’s empire to turn a company worth $492,016 into one earning around $700 million; which is only 10 percent of it’s earning in 2010. Trump has been able to increase his company’s profit by expanding from soley the real estate economy into investing, brokering, sales and marketing, and development of things other than homes like golf
