Having multiple siblings, six to be exact, has allowed me to view the impact of social media, video games, and smart phones have had on their life. Cooley states that the individual can only perceive one’s self by looking through the eyes of another. When a child grows up with access to unlimited knowledge, unlimited videos, unlimited everything, self-proliferation occurs must faster than it did when I was growing up.
