Jacob’s Art Gallery is an art gallery in Georgetown College’s campus. The art gallery was founded in 2002. Dr. Donald L. and Dorothy Jacobs. It is one of the best contemporary art galleries in Kentucky. The Jacob’s Art gallery also has artifacts from all over the globe like China, Vietnam, Africa, and many other countries. When arriving to the Art Gallery it seemed like no one was inside but then a nice lady came up and asked what I was doing and I asked if she would give me a tour. Lucky enough she said she’s given plenty of tours in the art gallery and said that she wouldn’t mind giving me a tour. He did a portrait of George Washington on the one dollar bill as well doing a painting of a Belgian 100 Franc. We then came up to a sculpture by Alexander. The sculpture was called Fragile Do Not Stack Over 3 High. It was a ceramic sculpture that had four boxes stacked on each other and they looked like they were being smashed. Sarah asked, “What is the irony of this sculpture?” I said I didn’t know and she told me that it was ironic because there were four boxes when it said not to stack over three. She also told me that this artist wanted to blur the lines between art and non-art. Sarah then pointed me towards the Jacob’s family’s favorite artist. Ernesto Gutierrez was the artist name and he had a unique style called the pointillist brush stroke. He also used bright and bold colors. Ernesto was a Peruvian artist and the painting we saw was an outdoor painting most likely a parade or party in the streets due to the instruments being played and the roof tops in the background. After we concluded the tour I proceed to look around at some of the sculptures and paintings that Sarah didn’t talk about and noticed another painting that was similar to the Ernesto Gutierrez and after a closer look it was another painting he had
