Specific Purpose Statement: To inform my audience how to insure their safety, and the safety of others, while on the road
Introduction
Automobiles! You just have to have one in this fast paced world! In the United States automobiles are necessary. People need to move from point A to point B. These points can be as close as a few hundred feet or even range up to a few hundred miles! When making these trips safety is a priority. There are hundreds of thousands of automobiles on the roads across the nation and if safety was not considered, thousand would be injured or even killed daily! Automobile safety has come a long way over the years and as every day goes by more and more new ways are created to keep drivers, and their passengers, safe on the road.
Thesis
Since the automobile was first created, more and more safety precautions have been taken to make an automobile ride as safe as possible. I will provide information on how to keep you and your car up to date with some precautions to ensure safety on the road.

We will begin with examples and tips on how to choose the safest automobile on the road, then we will look at precautions automobile companies are taking to keep you safe, and finally we will see some issues that are still to be taken care of as the automobile industry soars.
Point 1
There are many different automobile companies providing buyers with many styles of cars, trucks, SUVs, and motorcycles. Toronto Star January 14, 2005 present ways to approach the automotive buying process. There are many different surveys, crash reports, and rating systems comparing different companies and their vehicles. Things you should look for when reading these published articles are who conducted the study? Who paid for it? Who gains from it? Who loses? These are all things to keep eye on as some automotive companies will run their own surveys making their products seem overpowering against the competition. Some prove their products are safer then the competition where the competition has been proven time and time again to make that survey seem inaccurate.
Several measures have been put in place to try and control safety concerns. The leading areas of concern is poor working conditions for drivers, driver exhaustion, hour of service, drivers shortages, fuels prices, driver
In my area cars are a necessary evil. They are a status symbol to some people as a way of demonstrating wealth by driving an expensive vehicle. Cars are necessary to travel to work, the grocery store and to see family. Without a vehicle it is necessary to live closer to a metropolitan area that has public transportation.

Imagine sitting in a car with your good old pops. All of a sudden you look over and see he has blacked out, and is heading straight into another car. Now your pops is seriously injured ,and the people that were hit are in serious conditions. He is now depressed about what he has done and his health is plummeting. The entire family is stressed ,and now everyone’s lives are suffering. Do you wish you could’ve prevented this? I hope you said yes. If you said no, contact the nearest mental hospital near you! If there was yearly driving test and physical test this whole situation would have never happened. Sadly these situations have happened thousand maybe even million of times. We need to do something to prevent these things that happen. We
...ture a risk-taking species. In ancient times we took risks just to eat. Later we took huge risks by setting out in little wooden ships to explore the earth's surface. We continued as we sought to fly, travel faster than the speed of sound and to head off into space. We rely on increasingly more complex equipment and constantly strive to design and manufacture faster and even more elaborate devices. It goes without saying that every effort is made to ensure our "safety"; to keep us from harm or danger. Every time you slide behind the wheel of your vehicle you are taking a risk. Driving is the riskiest activity in our lives. It is an inherently "unsafe" environment. The most perfect vehicles on the best designed highways on beautiful sunny days driven by fallible human beings crash into each other. The only way to drive "safely" (as we are all admonished to do!) is to learn more about the process. Learn more about your vehicle and how to maintain it; learn how to use your eyes to look far down the road; learn to spot problems before they happen; and also learn to deal with emergency situations. In most cases it's the human element that fails. After all, safe is only as safe does.
These days, cars are necessary for everyday living. They take us where we need to go. They are the method of transportation for everyday traveling. Road rage is an increasing problem in America. Incidents of violent driving have been rising for many years now. Many people identify themselves by the car they drive, because of this; road rage is only increased. Potential problems should try to be avoided.
As the assignee of a company car, you are required to receive annual defensive driving training by our insurance carrier. In the interest of everyone’s time, I have put together a fast paced presentation that covers the essential elements of defensive driving that is only 60-90 minutes in duration.
That is a great idea. However, we are talking about the aging community it would pertain to people that are 75 or older. I had a family member of a patient who could not remember her left from her right could barely remember her husband’s name and talking to her she seemed very senile, and she was the driver. I think that the sign would be more for their protection than anything. When 16-year-old starts driving we use decals to inform others that they are new to the road. Why not when there is an elderly person driving they are already doing 20 mph to 30 mph already and when passing the driver you look over what do most drivers yell.
According to statistics, motor vehicle accidents are the number one leading cause of unintentional injury-related deaths, making up close to 45% and more than quadrupling all other causes. Although these statistics can be overwhelming, knowing that driving a motor vehicle on a daily basis comes with a lot of risk, an individuals chance of injury can be lowered by following basic safety rules. The American Trauma Society believes that the injury rate could be reduced by 50% if people simply applied existing information about prevention. Wearing a seat belt while riding in a motor vehicle is by far the easiest way to prevent injury and death, and should be done anyway because it is a federal law to do so. In addition to seat belts, motor vehicles are equipped with air bags, an automatic form of protection designed to reduce the risk of injury.
There are many factors that could lead to a car crash and you need to be prepared in case you are in one or see one. The Utah DMV handbook provides 5 steps that need to be executed if and when a crash occurs. The responsibility of a driver is to always try to avoid a crash, but if there is a crash there are steps to take to ensure the possible safety of the drivers and others affected by a crash. The following five steps is what the Utah DMV says to do and all information is by the works of the DMV unless cited otherwise.
When Americans go to buy a new or used car, they look for great fuel economy, strong engine performance, safety features, and whatever else interests them. One thing is for certain, every consumer searches for the best they can afford. Over the decades, automobiles in general have become more efficient in every aspect because of technological advances in society. However, there are still some car brands that stand out over others. It is well known that a prestigious Mercedes-Benz is more reliable than a Jeep; the same can be said about foreign and domestic cars.
When you are shopping for a car, you want to be able to shop for the car that you would want. You want to make sure that it is the right color, that it fits your needs such as if it just for going to and from work or if it going to be for long-term use, the car's mileage (if applicable) and so on. But, every once in a while, you run into that one pushy salesperson that will do anything to make you buy a car at their dealership that very day, even if it means trying to force you into buying th newest and best on the market with a loan attached to it and all of that extra interest. I have had two occassions where this has happened to me. The first when I bought my first newer vehicle and the second when I was with my husband when we were shopping
To conclude, the new safety innovations are still in use and are saving drivers lives day after day. Before these innovations were in use many drivers died each month. Now we have less drivers dieing because of these innovations. Although, these safety items are not mentioned frequently, they are aways in use on the race track. If it weren’t for the years of advancement in the safety of auto racing we might not have any drivers left to race.
While driving a car is fun and all, but are you driving it the right way? There are many ways to drive a car; you can drive the car yourself, call an uber or a friend, or pay a random person on the side of the road to drive you even though he/she may steal your car. However, not many people drive a car properly, since everyone drives they way they want to. The proper way to drive is safer than driving your own way.
B. It is these seemingly unaware drivers that infuriate the aggressive driver and trigger the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde transformation.
