In college, attendance is crucial to students’ success. Being late to class can result in having less time to take a test or missing fundamental concepts that may be discussed in a classroom. Students must take responsibility by arriving on time; however, limited parking spaces and other transportation problems at many universities can cause students to be late which can result in poor academic performance. The University of Texas at San Antonio, one of most populous cities in Texas, has 29,000 enrolled students (UTSA . . .). During peak hours, one must be timely to find a parking space; many students find themselves driving in circles while hoping to find someone else leaving the campus and others wait for a shuttle bus that has a reputation of arriving late. Due to transportation problems, some students may feel unmotivated to study in the library or go to class regularly. Therefore, the University of Texas at San Antonio should improve student transportation because doing so could increase students’ academic performance.
One solution for improving student transportation is offering a shuttle service. Although, UTSA already provides a shuttle service, it is limited to only two routes and can be unreliable. The transportation service at UTSA recommends waiting at the shuttle stop “30 to 45 minutes before your scheduled class time” (Business . . .). The thought of waiting in freezing temperatures trying to hide from the icy rain can be disheartening for some but it is a reality for students whose only way of transportation is through the shuttle. At the point when students need to leave to be somewhere on time, they ordinarily need to include the time that it will take for them to get to their cars, which could be an additional 5-10 minutes. There should be extra parking on grounds made for guests and furthermore for students.
The start if college is like the end of one’s childhood. Yet I had no intension of letting that go when I woke up yesterday at 7:00 am. Still, like high school, my mom dropped me off and picked me up; copping almost the exact same routine from the four years I spent in high school. Just as I thought this ought to be the easiest way of transportation, my mom proved me wrong once we reached the University of Washington’s parking lot.
One of the main reasons why schools are switching to block scheduling is because students receive higher test scores on standardized tests. Having only forty-five to fifty minutes of class is difficult to take a test meant for one hour and thirty minutes. With the new scheduling, students are able to take their time on tests and not rush through them. Many students have a problem focusing during tests, and with the extra time students don’t have to worry about not finishing in time. Chance W. Lewis and R. Brian Cobb, a part of the School of Education at Colorado State University, along with two others, have conducted an investigation on how block scheduling effects high school scores on the ACT. Students should not feel the anxiety of being late to class based on the CSUF parking issues. Tardiness often suggests that students could be lazy or show lack of care for their education. On the other hand, tardiness may be different at a school similar to CSUF. Titan students will quickly learn that they must show up to school an hour early in order to find a parking space, if they are lucky. Due to students not being capable of finding a parking space on time, they are generally tardy to their college courses. In this case, student’s education should not be affected due to parking issues. However, colleges are not as impacted in the summer, therefore, students should not be expected to worry about finding an open location to park. There are many controversial issues concerning the bus service provided by Buena Vista University. BVU Rides, commonly known as the “Drunk Bus,” receives great reviews from the students using it at Buena Vista. However, members of the Storm Lake community are not as appreciative of this service. It is important, nonetheless, that people learn facts about BVU Rides in order to make an educated judgment.

Why do college students procrastinate? Nearly every student will admit to, at times, delaying work until it is more “convenient.” Often times, these poor school habits will cause the student to become stressed and unorganized. Unfortunately, students will often fall into a cycle repeating these unacceptable behaviors. This cycle leads to sloppy work performance and lower grades. Discouragement abounds at this point and, in fact, many students give up completely. College students tend to procrastinate their work due to overestimating their own abilities, underestimating their coursework, and lacking motivation.
Everyone has used some kind of transportation in their life. It can be a car, bus, walking, etc. People do this to get from point A to point B. At NIU, there are options to get around campus. The most popular one is the the Huskie Bus Line. This is what the majority of the students use to go from one place on campus to another. A person rides the bus to get where they need to go. There are so many bus routes that NIU offers, that it goes all around town. For example, students who stay in the dorms normally take route 2R/2L to get to and from classes. College students have to balance work, family, and college activists and any delaying behavior from within can cause an unbalance. This behavior is called procrastinating and it can lead to problems in many areas of a student’s life. College students are the worst hit by this type of behavior because they have many different activities to focus on instead of studying. These activities can cause students to study when they have time which often is usually too short amount of time. While studying or even registering for a class presents a challenge to some college students, the greatest obstacle remains, going to class. Attending college is supposed to signify a new found freedom to make many important choices regarding education without high school mandatory attendance policies. However, students everywhere are coming to the staggering realization that college is not too different from high school. Teachers still take class roll and students are still expected to be at every class on time. What next, hall monitors in the hall? The time has come for action to be taken. Colleges must abolish mandatory student attendance policies for several reasons to be further discussed.
This calls a need for people especially students in college to warm up to the fact that if they are unable to manage their time appropriately while in school it is apparent that as they transition into their working life they will demonstrate the same effects still while on the job.

Time management is one of the most crucial factors to college success for every student in college. Firstly, while living on campus, time usually isn’t an issue to students because they live on school grounds. There are many advantages that come with time and one of them is getting to class on time. However, this is actually the opposite for commuters because getting to class on time is quite a struggle. They have to struggle to wake up earlier than usual in order to use the public transportation. Students living on campus also have more access to on-site facilities because they don’t have to worry about going home so there is no time limit on how long they occupy these areas. An example is staying in the library because this is where you can get help from tutors on subjects you are struggling with.
