Perception is the process of observing, comprehending, or construing something, or simply, a mental impression. Perception is primarily influenced by past experiences, expectations, and beliefs, and for this reason, perception of reality differs from one person to another. And in order to change your perception of the world, you first have to change your values and beliefs. One’s senses perform a crucial part in perception and behavior. Senses not only let you perceive your surrounding, but they also allow you to react in response to it. This technique is influenced by advertising, reviews, public relations, personal occurrences, social media, and additional channels. Exposure is the degree to which we confront a stimulus, meaning, every day, we are brought into contact with infinite commercials and media messages while driving on streets: radio advertisements, stickers on cars, bill boards, signs on stores and malls. Perception in marketing is critical, for what consumers believe about a product is in equal importance to what the product really carries in relation to performance. And so marketers’ most important job is to control their products’ perception in order to produce a positive image in the thoughts of consumers. In addition, when they consider perception, companies must look for ways to get consumers to trust their products. Two challenges we faced were time and costumes, time was limited but we were able to fit in everything into those few days and get ready for the performance. And for the costumes, we were the ones who came up with a sticky note costume, so we had to go and buy materials in order to form the costume because it was not ready-made. We agreed to use various colors of sticky notes in order to catch consumer’s attention because if we had only used one color of sticky notes then it would not have been that appealing. Also, one of the scenes of the ad was I acting as Lady Gaga wearing a sticky note costume. This is known as Testimonial, which is getting celebrities to be on advertisements to persuade consumers to buy the products. Using Lady Gaga as a customer of our product, we gained customers’ trust and created an upstanding first impression for the consumers. Lastly, we came up with a song that we repeated three times during the ad so it would not leave consumer’s memory. And to our luck, the audience were singing the song at the end because its tune is catchy. It was not easy coming up with ways to present the ad using the various persuasive techniques, but in the end we used four of the techniques successfully: Plain Folks,
