ABOUT THE EYE
Human eyes receive and form images from outside, also automatically changes in light and seeing things close up and at a distance. Therefore, we can see most of things from outside world. But without light, we can't see anything. Light travels though space and the sun gives off light rays then enter the eyes they are bent or refracted and these light rays create images or picture of all the objects around you, that's why we can see things very clearly. How light enter the eye, first light enters the eye though pupil which control different amounts of light into our eye. Then crystalline lens helps us see clearly, when we look at near objects crystalline lens will grows thicker and when we look at far objects then it will grows flatter. The crystalline lens and the cornea (the window of the eye) are bending light rays and sending them to the retinain the right direction. For our perfect vision, light rays must focus at one point on the retina.

William James, an American psychologist, proposed the first theory of what we now call “selective attention”. Selective attention is the assumption that in order to focus on one activity going on in your environment, you must hinder all other tasks occurring in the background. A good illustration of this would be to block out the music playing for the sake of progress on school work. This is referred to as the spotlight theory. In premise, your visual attention works like a spotlight. There is a focal point, or place or concentration. Beyond the focal point is considered to be fringe; seen by the viewer, but not observed clearly. Outside of the focal point and fringe is surplus and not viewed at all (Cherry, 2014).

The cartoonist has presented the perspective that rejecting collectivism can be ineffective, which is shown by people walking around surrounded by video surveillance. The author uses irony of large eyes in the sky with big bold letters that states the quote our eyes secure individuals' safety to show the ideas presented on portraying negative notion on the subject of which is surrendering our rights and freedoms for more collective security; he/she also stresses the idea of individualism. In 1802, philosopher William Paley called the eye a miracle of "design". Your eyes are responsible for 80 percent of all of the information that your brain receives. (Schleifer, 2014) But how did our eyes form? How are we able to see what we see? What allows us to see the colors we see? The eye is made up of many different complex parts that all work together to create images our brain can understand. The eye is made up of the front parts, or parts we can see, the interior parts, or parts we can’t see, the nerves which carry signals to our brain, and glands that protect our eyes. The eyes we have today have evolved over a long period of time and undergone many different changes, according to Charles Darwin, Richard Dawkins, and many other evolutionists. When all of the different parts of our eyes work together we are able to see a clear image that is produced from our brain.

The human eye is an organ that allows a person to see, the sense of sight. The eye is composed of several parts including the cornea, lens, pupil, retina, optic nerve etc. There are two portions the eye is broken into, the front third is the anterior segment and the other two thirds is the posterior segment. The anterior segment includes the lens, cornea, iris, and ciliary body. The posterior segment of the eye essentially is the back portion of the eye. In detail, the posterior segment is the portion of the eye behind the lens that includes the retina, macula, optic nerve, choroid, and vitreous humor. There are many diseases that affect the eye and those in particular affecting the posterior segment will be discussed in detail.
Most of the eye is filled with a clear gel called the vitreous. Light projects through the pupil and the lens to the back of the eye. The inside lining of the eye is covered by special light-sensing cells that are collectively called the retina. The retina converts light into electrical impulses. Behind the eye, the optic nerve carries these impulses to the brain. The macula is a small extra-sensitive area within the retina that gives central vision. It is located in the center of the retina and contains the fovea, a small depression or pit at the center of the macula that gives the clearest vision. The blind spot is at the exit point of the optic nerve, at this point there are no rods or cones, and so all the light directed here are of no use. Eye color is created by the amount and type of pigment in the iris. Multiple genes inherited from each parent determine a person’s eye color. Though the eye is such a wonderful organ, it is also prone to diseases, infections, and other problems that could be minor or major, and could lead to blindness or poor

The human eye’s ability to view focused images of both nearby and distant objects is dependent upon its capacity to accommodate. When you want to look at something nearby, the lens in your eye assumes a large curvature, resulting in a shorter focal length. Conversely, your lens becomes flatter in shape and takes on a longer focal length when you want to look at a distant object. Accommodation is key in allowing your eyes to use its muscles to change focal lengths in order to see objects at a variety of distances. When you lose the ability to accommodate, the lenses in your eyes become locked to focus on either near or far away objects. In the case of nearsighted individuals, light entering the eye can only focus on objects nearby. As a result, distant objects appear blurry because light is focused in front of the retina, or the light-sensitive tissue layer at the back of the eye, instead of directly on it.
The four main components of the eye that are responsible for producing an image are the cornea, lens, ciliary muscles and retina. Incoming light rays first encounter the cornea. The bulging shape of the cornea causes it to refract light similar to a convex lens. Because of the great difference in optical density between the air and the corneal material and because of the shape of the cornea, most of the refraction to incoming light rays takes place here. Light rays then pass through the pupil, and then onto the lens. A small amount of additional refraction takes place here as the light rays are "fine tuned" so that they focus on the retina.
ABSTRACT: The aim of this paper is to defend a broad concept of visual perception, according to which it is a sufficient condition for visual perception that subjects receive visual information in a way which enables them to give reliably correct answers about the objects presented to them. According to this view, blindsight, non-epistemic seeing, and conscious visual experience count as proper types of visual perception. This leads to two consequences concerning the role of the phenomenal qualities of visual experiences. First, phenomenal qualities are not necessary in order to see something, because in the case of blindsight, subjects can see objects without experiences phenomenal qualities. Second, they cannot be intentional properties, since they are not essential properties of visual experiences, and because the content of visual experiences cannot be constituted by contingent properties.

Each one of us lives in our own unique world of perception. As individuals, we may experience life in an entirely different way through our senses and life experiences. Therefore, perception can be tricky since it is very personal to each one of us. According to the Merriam-Webster online dictionary, perception has three meanings; (1) “the way you think about or understand someone or something,” (2) “the ability to understand or notice something easily,” and, (3) “the way that you notice or understand something using one of your senses” (2014, para. 1). Visual perception and visual sensation are both interactive processes, although there is a significant difference between the two processes. Sensation is defined as the stimulation of sense organs Visual sensation is a physiological process which means that it is the same for everyone. We absorb energy such as electro magnetic energy (light) or sound waves by sensory organs such as eyes.
