Life is like a river, there twist and turns and you never know what's next. My life took a turn for the best, even when I thought it wouldn't. Adopting is a process of moving homes and living with another family. There's so many things you have to do when you go though adoption. When I was 4 my "real" mom put me up for adoption to a friend of my "real" aunt. I remember a lady come by my aunts house when I was over to pick up my cousin. I had wanted to go with her so bad and have fun like my cousin, but in the long run, it helped me.
...edical history and I was able to have a relationship with my family and not have the added stress of not knowing where I come from. I did not experience any disadvantages from being adopted however, when I looked at the stages one goes through as they get older I can apply them to my life. I feel I may have skipped some stages , but I did question why my mother could not get off the drugs to be able to take care of me and my siblings, however I know it’s not personal because she did not raise any of my siblings. Adoption is something that one is fortune to be loved and to be picked by a family, however I think it is important to be aware of the physical, cognitive and emotional aspects of adopting someone. Overall, I know that I will encounter and adopted student and to be able to have a teacher who was adopted will only help me build a relationship with that child.
In conclusion I have had a difficult life and have had to adapt to new people and enviroments multiple times. Although this was at times difficult I still turned out ok and love my new family. All in all the lead up to my adoption, my adoption and after the fact wasn’t ll that
With all of the downfalls that I have experienced in my academic and personal life, a college education will make it possible for me to continue my journey into becoming a prestigious corporate lawyer. I have the drive for success and I am certain that with this scholarship I will be able to pay off my debt and help my mother with her own educational goals. I was content that I was able to encourage her to attend school and I am most fortunate to be given an opportunity to help both her and myself achieve our ultimate goals for the near future.
The opportunity to receive this scholarship would allow myself to further my education because going to college is something i’ve always planned to do since I was little. As of right now, I will be the first to attend college since before my grandparents. To have this opportunity and chance would really mean a lot to not only myself, but my family. Due to financial needs, this scholarship will give myself the head start I need when it comes to paying for tuition. Consequently, neither one of my parents can afford to put me through college, therefore I will need to work my way through school to pay for tuition.
Adoption has changed many lives for the better, including my own. By being adopted, it has allowed me to experience what it is like to live in a world of endless possibilities. It has taught me to be open to different cultures and how to adapt to a new society. Adoption is not just taking legal responsibility of a child; it’s a lifelong journey that guarantees the betterment of the next generation.
Getting this scholarship was my jump start to furthering my education and I knew from there that I was going to prove statistics wrong. I knew I was going to college and that things were going to be different for me and I was going to make a difference. I won’t be the black kid who drops out of school, because my education is too important to
I was adopted from Seoul, South Korea when I was five and a half months old. When I finally understood what adoption meant, I thought that it was the most significant day in my life for many years, but I was wrong.
Between the stressful schedules and pricey cost to attend to the difference between getting a job and not getting it was a high school diploma or a college degree. I am interested in furthering my education through college and eventually graduate school, because I believe and know that my degree will give me the best possible chance to be successful in whatever I choose to do after I graduate. I’m confident that I will not only be able to put in an excess amount of time and effort, but be able to surpass the goals I am setting for myself. Being considered for this scholarship will aid me on my path to success. I’m committed to making a great name for myself and to being a role model to those who are younger than
Over the years we began to get closer, not just friends, but practically brothers. We did absolutely everything together, band, drama, and tennis. Then one day he started to talk about his life and how much different it would be if he wasn't adopted. This sparked my interest in adoption and all the benefits behind it. Everyone wanting to have children should consider their options and keep an open mind about adoption.
I personally believe that being adopted can affect somebody in such a way that can cause a child start to struggle with low self-esteem, fitting in and feeling wanted. Not to mention that it is extremely hard for them to feel
I have made a great selfless decision in choosing adoption in order to give my son a happier, worry-free, more fulfilled life. There have also been selfish decisions. I have made some bad choices and experienced first hand how those choices affected my future for a brief time. When my son was about eight months old, I chose to live in a house where everyone drank and took pills. I was unreachable to most of my friends and family and ended up missing milestones and three months of my son’s life.
The most important to me in school right now is getting good grades and doing well in all of my classes. At the same time I need to work to have enough money to pay for everything, and this semester I barely had enough to keep going to school. I was very close deciding that I may have to postpone school for awhile, fortunately I found a side-job for a couple of weekends that gave me just enough to keep going. I want to be able to finish my schooling without having to keep delaying it because of money. I believe that this scholarship will help. I will continue to work and do my best to be able to completely support myself and pay for college, but any help that I can get will furthe...
