It took me a long time to decide on which world event impacted me the most. I mean, there has been so many that have influenced me in different ways. I realized, though, the single event that has challenged my worldview, is the outbreak of Ebola. I know there have been a lot of events in my lifetime that could have affected me. However, I never really cared about what was going on in the world until recently and Ebola has a lot to do with that. I am going to give you a few reasons as to how it changed my view of life, and the world. My view of world problems a few years ago was definitely different from what it is now. I thought that their government should provide help to those who needed it. Once I had heard the symptoms and number of deaths, I had started to become a little more sympathetic. I was glad that doctors and caregivers were going over to Africa on their freewill. It was my belief that they could contain and solve it. One day, I found out that someone had contracted the disease while in the United States. I realized that this had become bigger than just Africa. We Americans were now in danger. It had now become our problem, and it still is. More people in America had started to contract it and started to worry many people. I knew that we should have paid Ebola more attention when it wasn’t as serious. I realized that we needed to start helping other countries more. My view had changed completely from what it was near months ago. Some countries just cannot do it by themselves. It is good for America to use its power for respectable reasons.
