The definition of communism according to Mr. Certos notes is that the government has control over everything. They can make prices higher and lower, and they have all of the power. The world GDP has the biggest effect on communism in a positive way. First, GDP went up each year in every place that had it. For example, from 1913 to 1950 in the western offshoots went up 1886.4 billion dollars. Each year or month you would get a certain cut of that and make a lot of money. Also since the government is running the taxes they can put the prices up. Since they regulate what goes up and down they could make prices higher on certain things. There was two maps, one was in the 1900s and before both of the World Ward and the second one was after both of them ended. Before the wars stared Russia was a capitalist country and lived under the rules of the government, but after the world wars ended Russia was no longer the same. It had been drained from about 1.7 billion troops and now was now under some new leaders. It also did not help that all of the people that were fighting for their country had a strong belief in there government. This is bad because Russia was a Prime example of a Communism and now that had been lost along with a ton others in war.
