When you think about what book has had the most profound effect on you life, what book do you think of? When I asked myself this question, I could not narrow it down to book, so I thought books. The series that has had the most impact on my cognitive maturity is definitely the Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling. These books have impacted my life more than I ever could have imagined and I will be forever thankful to Mrs. Rowling for writing them. The Harry Potter series has: convinced my imagination to blossom like a lily and they have shown me to keep persevering no matter how much adversity I encounter. When I began to undertake this book series I was only in the first grade, because I was so young oftentimes I would have to ask for help on a word and I would have to persevere through the difficulties and become better. In turn these difficult books at my young age expanded my vocabulary exponentially. If you know anything about the Harry Potter series, then you might know a little bit about the backstory of J.K. Rowling. An interesting fact that I learned was that she was rejected by 12 different publishers before she was accepted. This shows the immense amount of perseverance that she had to have had because she happened to be very poor at the time. The amount of faith in herself and the belief that she could do anything is an inspiration to me and everyone. This has really impacted me because it showed that with a little faith and belief in yourself, you can do anything you set your mind to. The Harry Potter series has impacted me immensely in more ways than I could have ever imagined. These books have helped me get to where I am today and I would never have thought that a book could do that. These books have spurred my imagination and taught me the beauty of perseverance.
