When you think about what book has had the most profound effect on you life, what book do you think of? When I asked myself this question, I could not narrow it down to book, so I thought books. The series that has had the most impact on my cognitive maturity is definitely the Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling. These books have impacted my life more than I ever could have imagined and I will be forever thankful to Mrs. Rowling for writing them. When I began to undertake this book series I was only in the first grade, because I was so young oftentimes I would have to ask for help on a word and I would have to persevere through the difficulties and become better. In turn these difficult books at my young age expanded my vocabulary exponentially. If you know anything about the Harry Potter series, then you might know a little bit about the backstory of J.K. Rowling. An interesting fact that I learned was that she was rejected by 12 different publishers before she was accepted. This shows the immense amount of perseverance that she had to have had because she happened to be very poor at the time. The amount of faith in herself and the belief that she could do anything is an inspiration to me and everyone. This has really impacted me because it showed that with a little faith and belief in yourself, you can do anything you set your mind to. The Harry Potter series has impacted me immensely in more ways than I could have ever imagined. These books have helped me get to where I am today and I would never have thought that a book could do that. These books have spurred my imagination and taught me the beauty of perseverance. Joanne Rowling, better known as JK Rowling to her millions of fans worldwide, became famous off of her Harry Potter books. Many authors have tried to achieve the success she has, but none have come close. “When Rowling brought Harry Potter and his friends to life, she created a world in which children of all ages found themselves immersed…”(Andrews). By creating new words and including intriguing creatures in Harry Potter JK Rowling establishes an exciting world that helps engage her readers. It is truly these things that have set her work to a new level.
The most important books to a person are the ones that leave a lasting impact. Books that people can reflect back on and cite as a defining influence in their life. Truman Capote's In Cold Blood confirms the importance of reading a story with its own lifelong message, the consequences that result from one’s actions and their effect on a population. It lets children and young adults go into a fantasy world that involves around wizards, witches, and magic. This series gets children to start to read at a young age. I believe this series is deeply more because it can show what morally side path you want to go down life. This series of books show how the morally good people would act in a crisis and not in crisis. For example, Mrs. Weasley in books and movies series her character was the loving mother who loved everyone basically. But at the end of the books and movies, when she in a crisis situation with Bellatrix Lestrange, who is trying to kill her daughter. Mrs. Weasley puts down that friendly loving look and goes after Bellatrix. They battled until Bellatrix’s death. It was the first time we saw this character not in loving, happily mood. Her morals changed when she saw that her daughter was in danger. This series also teaches us how to break the rules. Even though breaking the rules is morally wrong, but in some cases breaking the rules is good for people. Its shows how even fictional characters are not perfect in a make-up world. But it does show heroic and virtuous character moments that don’t need a perfect character. This imagination by J.K. Rowling is truly impressive because she appeals to our heads and our hearts with her writing according to Philosopher Martha Nussbaum. She means that the way she wrote some of her characters and the scenes they are in they touches our self in different place like our head and hearts. I began to read not out of entertainment but out of curiosity, for in each new book I discovered an element of real life. It is possible that I will learn more about society through literature than I ever will through personal experience. Having lived a safe, relatively sheltered life for only seventeen years, I don’t have much to offer in regards to worldly wisdom. Reading has opened doors to situations I will never encounter myself, giving me a better understanding of others and their situations. Through books, I’ve escaped from slavery, been tried for murder, and lived through the Cambodian genocide. I’ve been an immigrant, permanently disabled, and faced World War II death camps. Without books, I would be a significantly more close-minded person. My perception of the world has been more significantly impacted by the experiences I've gained through literature than those I've gained
My dad taught me that books could be my teachers, my mom taught me that our backyard could be my classroom, and my sister showed me that you could bring books into the swimming pool. I did not know it when I would spend hours in the pool reading a book that my parents weren’t encouraging it in vain, but my family life, for good reason, was centered on books. We were the planets orbiting around one sun that was the bookshelf. Little did I know that books would be the catalyst to academic success in my early life, and I owe it all to my family. Listing a Harry Potter book is admittedly cliché, but it was the first book I ever read with gusto. When I was in elementary school, like many kids my age, I had an aversion to reading; my grades suffered because of it. The only way to improve your literary skills is through practice, and the best way to practice is to read a topic of interest. So at a parent teacher conference, my fifth grade teacher suggested I try reading Harry Potter, which at the time was quickly becoming a world phenomenon. My parents forced me to pick up the book, and before I knew it, I was enthralled with the story.
Before reading Harry Potter, I very rarely read for pleasure. I found reading boring, almost old fashioned. My frame of mind more readily paralleled Danny Divito in the movie Matlida, who says that “[t]here's nothing you can get from a book that you can't get from a television faster.” While my view of reading as a child could be summed up in that quote, everything changed when I was introduced to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. I can remember to this day when my Dad began reading Harry Potter to me, and how I did not understand just how much this book would change me. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was born from a single idea, people shouldn’t be judged for something they can’t change. Since, Hogwarts’ creation, during the 10th century, it has changed the lives of witches, wizards, and muggles, those without magic. The way Hogwarts was created and its impact on both the wizarding and muggle world is marvelous.
In recent history a cultural phenomenon has occurred. With the rise of Harry Potter, this nation's youth have displayed a “mania” that has not been seen in reference to books for a long time. For example, Barns & Noble America's largest bookseller has recently declared that Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will be their “largest seller in the history of the entire company” (Mangan). In light of this rise to fame one should note that Harry Potter can and will impact modern culture.
Your books have taught me to be brave and not give up. Harry would never give up to protect everyone from the worst sorcerer in the world, Voldemort. He even made the ultimate sacrifice of not being able to die and see his parents in the afterlife because Voldemort was the only one able to kill Harry. Harry made this sacrifice to protecst everyone. He didn't give up to any of this. This was truly inspiring to me and led me to make choices that didn't just benefit a few people, but everyone.

The Harry Potter series is one of the most read sequences of novels because the central theme is love and self-sacrifice, and readers are looking for a novel that shows them just that.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was written by J. K. Rowling and is the seventh and final book in the Harry Potter series. The book is about a seventeen-year-old wizard, named Harry Potter, who has to travel all over England to find things that will help him defeat the evil wizard, Lord Voldomort. The main theme/moral of the entire series is good will always triumphs over evil. In every book, even when it looks like evil is going to win, good always triumphs in the end.

The aim of this essay is to try to explain the reason for the popularity of the Harry Potter books. The aim is also to show the changes that the series caused, how they influenced the people who read them, how they had an impact on literacy and overall, on British popular culture. In the first part of the essay I will briefly explain the beginning of the Harry Potter phenomenon and its growing popularity in the countries all over the world. In the second part I will deal with the character of Harry, explaining why he has such an appeal to the readers and how come people identify with him. In the third part, I will explain the impact Harry Potter books have on society, how they influence young adults and children. The fourth part will deal with the controversies about Harry Potter, the views and thoughts of religious people who see Harry Potter as a book that should be banned. In the fifth part, I will mention the difference the phenomenon caused when it comes to the book business and the film industry of Britain.
