The Great depression put americans through a big hardship, but many of them found ways to get through it. Even though prohibition created a restriction on the 1930s , an outlet through music was found. President Hoover was no match for the Great Depression, therefor he was no match for president Roosevelt during their election. `One of the biggest uprisings in the 1930s was the Great Depression, which caused hardships for many americans. Following the Civil War, the Great Depression was the worst crisis in America. ”As the 1930s began, one out of every four wage-earners-- more than 15 million men and women-- was without work.” (“The Great Depression.") During this time, President Hoover was in charge, which created a very bad reputation for him. The Great Depression made Hoover seem “cold” and “uncaring” to many americans. ("Herbert Hoover.") This caused him no match to Democrat Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1932. On December 5, 1933, America’s “noble experiment” ended by the 21st Amendment. This experiment was started in 1920, by the 18th Amendment, and was called Prohibition, which was a ban of alcoholic beverages nationwide. ("The Repeal of Prohibition.")
