The education sector is an evolving sector. It is a sector that is catching up with the latest technologies in the market. Since the introduction of application apps, students’ performance has not remained the same. There has been both good and bad effects. This research paper has devoted all efforts into looking on all the means through which apps have affected or influence student’s performance. To do this, this paper has relied much on secondary sources of data. The paper has not only focused on education sector alone, but also it has extended the study to check how other industries are being affected by the same. The effects of apps on marketing have lightly been discussed.
Education has been greatly affected by apps. Apps have improved interaction between students themselves and between the students and their teachers. The friendlier interaction has been observed to translate direct to better performance among the students. This is highly attributed to the extensive brainstorming sessions and creativity evoked by the circumstances created by application of the apps. The use of apps is approached from three dimensions namely multimodal, collaborative and sharing. Through this, students are able to share out their ideals, be creative and cooperate with one another.
Large numbers of apps are being developed each year. Besides the education sector, apps are also being used in a variety of other industries. The entertainment industry has greatly benefited from development of apps. Games on phones and computers continue to be perfected through introduction of new apps. It will be improved because the apps help accentuate the student’s understanding of the topic being discussed and the simulations carried out are very instrumental in creating real life interaction activities. When the students step out of school to go and implement what they have learned in school, they adapt easily. The importance of apps in schools cannot be underscored in any way.
To find out how the apps are affecting performance in schools, secondary data will be heavily relied upon. This research aims at exploring the works of a number of scholars who have investigated apps usage in different areas of academic and industrial processes. Critical analysis of these works will be done to ensure that a fine conclusion on the effects of apps usage in school has been arrived at.
