Homesick I’ll be Home for Christmas is a huge Christmas hit by Meghan Trainor about complications in a person’s life impeding them from being home during the holidays; but he/she promises their family or lover that they will be home for Christmas. The sensational hit by Meghan Trainor brings warm and loving memories about Christmas and what it's all about through different literary devices such as dialogue, imagery, and repetition. Throughout the song, Meghan Trainor used dialogue in order for her create a mood of conversation . As for the first example (Trainor 1:2) “He said winter love is spreading everywhere” . The more profound meaning, rather than the literal meaning, is that winter is starting and families are joining together in unity, peace, and love. The second representation of dialogue Meghan Trainor utilizes in her song The beginning example in the song would have to be where the song says “ I’ll find my way back home and light up every tree.” This creates imagery because it composes a picture in your mind of a neighborhood of houses. All the houses with their trees lit up and someone is trying to use the trees as direction in order for the person to get home. Subsequently, the second example of imagery in I’ll be Home for Christmas would be “We will hang our stockings for you and for me.” Here, you can imagine in your mind that there’s a family or a couple hanging stocking up on a wall or fireplace. The third example of imagery in the song I choose to analyze was “The wind blows the snow up in the sky.” This clearly shows snow being blown up in the air by the wind. This brings the feel of winter to the overall theme of the song. The last literary device analyzed from the song I’ll be Home for Christmas by Meghan Trainor, is repetition.
