For many years, people had flocked to the amphitheater to be morbidly entertained by gladiators. Gladiator battles were a relevant part of Roman life and a familiar occurrence during the time. However, what we thought we knew about gladiators may not actually be completely true. Did they really fight to the death every time? Recent archeological discoveries may tell us otherwise.
