With the diversification of communities, government needs to put extra affords to become truly representative, and capable of addressing all diverse needs of the citizens. In California, for instance, where Latino population demographically is the major population of the state, it is still significantly underrepresented in the government (Robledo, 2015). The gender diversity of the government around the world is also a significant issue.

Another tendency of the future development of the public service in the conditions of the continuing globalization and boosting diversity in the local communities is pluralization of values (de Graaf, 2015 ).

The contemporary world is all about connections. A lot of political processes are globally transitioned through the variable social media. It is safe to say that the history is being made on the internet. The on-line and off-line world are so interconnected that it creates new opportunities and allows some global changes to happened in a real world. For instance, so-called Revolution of Dignity, which led to the change of the government as result of the largest protest in Europe, became possible mostly because of the citizens’ engagement and coordination through the social media. So, in a sense, those who claim that citizen participation does not work are absolutely correct if they are referring to the traditional mechanisms. Conversely, when done well, citizen dialogue and engagement has the opposite eff ect: it builds citizenship, trust and capacity.( Denhardt, J. , & Denhardt, R. 2015 p. 666)
The new public service of future should be innovative in its ways of engaging the citizens. It should utilize different forms of engagement and rely on the informational technology that provides plenty of recourses when it comes to connection and collaboration. The future government should be creative in both on-line and off-line methods of the dialog building.
Pahlka (2012) in her speech ‘codding better government’ suggests using informational technology not just to hear people’s voices but also to use their hands. An example of such technology can be an application created in the city of Boston called “adopt a hydrant.” The application allows citizens to adopt a fire hydrant and clean it from the snow in winter time. There is an interactive map with the funny names for hydrants which allows people to sign up and take care of the available hydrant.
